Nice facilities but very shady characters in the evening.
Quiet at night other than a car that pulled into the car park blasting music at 3am. Witnessed a fight in the car park (not campers) in the morning but they didn't bother us.
Couldn't get onto the car park WiFi but library WiFi good during the day.

Clean dump station.
Helpful staff in the NPD - showed me where the potable water taps are (attached onto the wall near the gas pumps).

Most of this area is closed at the time of visit (late May).
We parked by the river (only place that was accessible) but were moved along by a polite security man. We were instructed to take the other turning off Huka Falls Road 100m down (not the one Google maps on here takes you to). This brings you to a very bumpy bit of land. Several other campers but still enough room. Worst toilets in all of NZ!
