Lake Hakanoa Huntly Motor Caravan Park
One of the best sites in the Waikato imho.
Cheap, secure, friendly and clean. Close to Hamilton and the amazing Hamilton Gardens.
There's a track that runs around Lake Hakano right by the back gate, I cycled round it twice, lots of wildlife, makes for a peaceful backdrop.
Showers are not on a timer, friendly staff and campers.

Hawera Holiday Park (formally King Edward Park Motor Camp)
Great little camp site, good unlimited showers, friendly place, friendly people.
Paid $31.50 for a powered site. Hawera is a great little town, good coffee, good shops. The real attraction of the area is the Tawhiti Museum. Huge displays using dioramas, so full of detail bringing local history to life. I was there for almost 4 hours and I'm still not sure I saw everything. Highly recommended

Great site, good location, peaceful.
Friendly staff, good facilities, free showers and good Wifi. Everything to like.
