Currently have construction going on, but their website does warn you of this.
Facilities are good and clean. Walking distance to town, so no need to drive or try and find car parking.
You are in rows of camping sites, but you don't come here for the camping experience, it's the ease and cleanliness. You spend all your time out exploring or adventuring. Everyone is respectful of noise through the night. Find people will be quieter than at DOCS sites

Great spot.
Creek has toxic algae (rock snot) so don't swim or take dogs down there. Quiet spot. Facilities are old but clean and functional. Washing machine is only $2, but no dryer. Does have a good big washing line to use, with some pegs. Dryer at laundry in town was $10!!
Caretakers were polite and came through a few times through day/ evening/ morning to collect payment. Was $10/adult. Kids were free.

Great little site with clean toilets and shelter from rain and wind to cook.
So many vans pulling in all night though
Sandflies are horrendous so cover up and bring insect repellent as well as something to put on your bites

Great spot.
Avoid long weekends as place is packed, hard to find a spot and no one is respectful of rules for quiet, no fireworks etc. Was noisy until midnight. Outside of long weekend you could easily find a spot all to yourself

Great place for those camping and campervans as well.
Clean, big grassy areas to pitch a tent. Kitchen, laundry and even a TV room for rainy days. A great spot right across from a beautiful beach. And no sand flies! Perfect after coming up the coast and being eaten alive at every spot.
Great for kids too 👌

Great spot.
Friendly doc volunteer checking reservations. Creek is beautiful and fresh. Wind can pick up pretty intense overnight. Sites near toilet didn't seem to be affected, those close to "boat ramp" (just an opening to launch kayaks etc) were windy. Even tucked up on opposite side of trees to the water, we had pretty intense wind throughout night

Beautiful view of mountain.
Long drop toilet, stank but that's typical of those toilets. Lots of Tui's flying around. Lovely listening to the birds in morning.
Good coffee at Kombi coffee in town 👌

Sandflies as usual on the West Coast.
Lake was surprisingly warm and a perfect spot for a swim. Toilets were clean. Otto side was less crowded and right by the lake. Would have stayed an extra night if time allowed.

Lots of tent spots.
Even though lots of permanent campers, they are in separate section and the whole site was quiet and people respectful of each other day and night. We stayed down bottom near creek, toilet/shower block down there was old, but clean. Weren't given any info about showers costing money at check in. Another resident thankfully informed us as we were heading in. They are $2 for 6 minutes.
Also weren't informed that dryers in laundry needed tokens from front office. Office closes 530pm.

Gorgeous spot on the coast.
Would go back again and again. No reception for the phone or shops nearby, so take everything you need. Spend a couple of nights to really enjoy it.
Toilets were clean even with a number of campers during school holidays.
