Cape Kidnappers Walking Track

Gorgeous hike along the beach, beautiful (but stinky) birds, no people (except the paid tractor but you can time against them), orcas!!
Stunning views of the ocean, cliffs and beach.

Routeburn Track

Easy walk but so lovely.
Not very many people, we also did it at night and saw wild kiwi!!! So exciting and fab DOC site right there!! Also Tongariro: great scenery but too many people.

Clifton Beach Reserve Motor Camp

Dated facilities but adequate.
Amazing location, super nice people. Great cafe nearby, quiet with sounds of the seashore.
