We rented the epic + camper for 4 weeks as a couple, and had an excellent time.
The van was mechanically flawless during our rental period. It's an automatic gearbox so you can put all your focus driving on the left side of the road 😆
We loved the ability to have a table & seating area in the van during the day. I'm 6ft2 and could comfortably sit upright. At night, the double bed was large enough for me & the girlfriend, and despite a couple sub-zero nights, we could sleep comfortably with the extra blankets (and a set of thermal layers).
The kitchen was great, and came packed with anything you might need. We loved cooking outside in the parks & mountains :) the tap in the back also proved invaluable as we used it all the time!
The second battery worked flawlessly, and we never had to worry about the voltage levels, and the fridge was surprisingly spacious!
One recommendation I would have for my past-self is to rent the roof cargo box/ski box, as we had a bit too many bags after all our travels leading up to NZ.
The epic team was extremely responsive, they made our own whatsapp contact group where we had constant line of contact to the epic team, should any issues have arisen.

Absolutely loved our experience with Epic and would recommend them to anyone looking to hire a campervan in New Zealand.
From start to finish, Dan was incredibly helpful and friendly. In particular we really appreciated our detailed pick up in which we were shown around the van (Henry), how everything in the van worked and fitted in. We had a couple of queries on our journey and Epic were always quick to respond and answer any questions. We paid for the full insurance cover which gave us that extra peace of mind. The car ran smoothly and had no major issues, and simply accepted that Henry was not getting up windy hills anywhere fast!! The vans themselves are of course a bit snug, but really well structured and kitted out. The little things like including a coffee press and salt/pepper made a big difference to the experience. Returning Henry was, although sad, very easy and Epic were really flexible and helpful. Campervan-ing around New Zealand is definitely the best way to see as much as you can, and we were very happy we chose Epic to do this.

We travelled for 6 weeks all over New Zealand in the new EPIC2+ van and we loved it!
The van had all we needed, it was the perfect size for us and had a great layout. The design was nice and practical. While the van was very comfortable and spacious enough for 2 people, it was still small enough car to park almost anywhere which was so nice and made our travels very easy! We did see some of the people with the bigger campervans struggling to park/maneuver in some places. The rental process was smooth and communication with the EPIC team was great, Andy and Dan were helpful, responsive and answered all our questions. Linda who did the van hand-over was very kind and explained everything. Overall, it was a perfect honeymoon trip for us and we highly recommend renting a van with EPIC!

We rented ‘Dory‘ for 3 weeks and simply loved her!
The van‘s interior space is cleverly thought through, the separate battery makes powered campsites virtually unnecessary and it is really well equipped for cooking with quite a big chilly bin as well. There‘s plenty of space for luggage and the matress is very comfortable.
As for everything else - the booking process is simple and reliable and the whole team of EPIC Campers super nice and helpful both in advance and during the trip. Should we ever come back to New Zealand, we would definitely try and get one of their Campers again! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

We had a great 5 weeks travel with the epic camper.
A small but cozy campervan. All that you need is on board. It brought us everywhere we wanted to. Flat lands, mountains, you name it. The team of epic campers is very approachable and helpful if a help is needed. Make sure you’re fit and flexible to travel with this lovely little campervan.

I I drove Epic’s campervan Tess solo all over the South Island & most of the North Island without one glitch or issue.
Tess handled like a dream and was equipped with every convenience. Comfy & cozy to boot! Not only was she a great ride, the folks at Epic from my orientation with the lovely Linda to my drop off with Dan was exceptional. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. They made the experience so effortless and enjoyable. I highly recommend using this company when traveling New Zealand

We spent 4 weeks traveling around North and South Island (we started in Auckland and finished in Christchurch).
The van was the perfect size and really well equipped (we had many other people in camper vans commenting how our setup was really good for the size).
We aren’t used to driving vans or larger vehicles so the 2 berth van was the perfect size for us, it was small enough to easily park it and spend less on ferry rides but loads of storage space even for people who bring far too much stuff (like us).
The staff were so friendly, helped us get used to the van and get familiar before we left and were happy to answer questions if there was a feature of the van we weren’t familiar with out on the road
We were driving one of the newer vans from 2023 so we had no problems with the van, it drove really well and was capable of handling going on gravel roads and the steep hills of coromandel and Fiordland.
We would recommend this company to everyone, try these guys first if you want a great camper van experience!

Epic Campers provided a quality campervan for our 2 week holiday in New Zealand.
Everything went smoothly, customer service and communication were excellent throughout. The campervan had everything we needed for our adventure and we would happily recommend the company to anyone.

Our first time renting a camper van and Epic Campers was hands down the best for all of our camper van travel needs!
They were friendly, responsive, and communicative both during the booking process and throughout our trip as needed. Very thorough explanation when picking up the van and provided excellent recommendations with regards to our travel in the North Island. Would highly recommend for a New Zealand trip of a lifetime!

We had the best 2 month adventure we could have asked for with all 60 nights spent in our EPIC camper.
The length and breadth of both islands were well and truly seen (although we could have stayed longer happily!) Any questions we had received lightning responses from Andy along the way, as well as a knowledgeable and informative handover.
