There spots here for staying overnight.

The toilets were clean but no lights at night time.

It is a very cold spot at night time. The beach is really cool to explore, there is a decent hill to walk down and up though.

There was one asshole who drove through the reserve at 5am honking the horn.

Wild n wooly in a Westerly.

Beach access is by steep graded path and beach is sandy/rocks. Inaccessible at high tide. Good walk to next beach at low tide (10km round trip).

Toilets operative and shelter all in one 20ft container with solar power lighting.

Parks short for campers but grass can be backed onto when dryish.

Popular hoon destination as only 5 mins from Hawera.

    Walk/cycleway to town.

    Nice location.

Well maintained, however the toilets have been out of order since Nov, 2021. Some joins hanging around but cleared out after sunset. Nice beach.

Great views, good spaces for campervans (sign says 3, but there would be space for more).

Reasonable shelter from wind. clean toilets, but sink for washing dishes has been removed. Quiet might, but stayed midweek.

Lovey views. A few locals in the early evening but they had all left by nightfall. Limited reception. Clean toilets open all night

    Great location.

Beautiful beach wild and exciting. The facilities are very good, the toilet block clean and well maintained.

A beautiful spot and fantastic walk on the beach at low tide.

The toilet was clean and over night area clean and sheltered.

However this appears to be a hangout for the locals. We had lots of cars coming and going, loud music, calling out, other noise until almost midnight and it was a Monday night.

Would go back for a walk but not to stay.

Really nice place to stay, we had strong winds, so didn't get the chance to enjoy the beach.

    Loved camping here!

Beautiful view. Walk to the beach was a little steep, but we're seniors and we made it. The walk on the beach was beautiful, and we were mostly alone! Even overnight, we were the only camper, all for free! 😊

Big grassy and well maintained reserve area at top of cliffs, with views out to sea.

Gravel walkway down to beach. Area well used by locals for walking dogs and parking for beach access. Campervan parks to the right of the reserve are well formed with some degree of privacy from planting of shrubs and flaxes. Some night activity with local cars coming and going, but nothing too annoying. It was a Saturday night, so maybe less of this on week nights. Very pleasant and free place to stay for self-contained vehicles.
