The location is good.

Nice view over the lake and the toilets were close. We chose it as the coastal spots were so windy that our van shock.

At 10pm a group of local kids terrorised us by throwing water filled balloons at the car. Collected their ammunition and they were back an hour later for another round. We already saw that from another girl on camper mate who left after that. We stayed and gladly the rest of the night was quite though not very relaxing.

Lovely spot.

Clean drinking water. Clean toilet

Beautiful peaceful lake. 6 spots available on leveled grass. Good for SC, NSC and tents.

The loop track around the lake is lovely.

Also just a short stroll from Opunake beach.

Oh the ducks are supper friendly and not shy at all.

Highly recommend this place.

So refreshing after coming from New Plymouth which isn't really freedom camper friendly.

We loved this spot.

Lake was great for kayaking but no swimming due to bacteria levels.

Get here early as only a certain amount of campers allowed.

Toilet is in good condition.

Short walk to beach - pram friendly down concrete ramp/path.

Beach was great too for swimming. There is a paddling pool and playground by beach and an ice cream shop.

Kids had a ball.

No charge for camping at the lake! Was also very peaceful and small playground by lake to entertain kids.

Didn't do the lake walks but I'm sure they are lovely.
