  • What a little gem.

Lovely green space for 12 units at the top of the beach cliff. It’s sheltered from the ocean winds and in a nice quiet part of town. There’s even a dump station just down the road. Thank you Opunake.

  • A perfect spot to stop for the night beautiful sunset.

We were lucky to park where we looked out over the ocean. Concrete stairs down to the beach and fishing club, there were a few people surf casting off the beach. Nice coastal walkway and also cycle one

  • Great spot.

Don't be put off by the name of the place. Idea for tents. Great small town with all the facilities you need. Shops of all kind, bars, places to eat and a small cinema.

  • Absolutely great spot for freedom camping.

The designated area is also marked with signs describing were camping is allowed. The toilet is located in a building near the ocean, you have to go down some stairs near the intersection of Halse and Longfellow Road. Can definitely recommend this spot.
