You CANNOT camp in any capacity at Whareroa, you WILL be moved along by the local residents if you attempt to camp here.

Free, in town, nice enough view, flat, paved ground and plenty of room.
POSITIVES:
NEGATIVES:
-Google LIES about how to get there; check out satalite view to actually figure it out.... Before you're tired.
-no toilette
-near a noisy industrial building that emmits a high frequency buzzing all night
-Locals came around EARLY and tried to wake all the campers up with honking, loud music and yelling, I assume to encourage us to leave sooner than later.

Nice spot to stay for the night.
Not as much noise as expected being next to the motorway, I've been to noisier free locations. Felt safe for being a car park and it's a Saturday night with no load music cars or people making noise, it was peaceful. I would stay again.

Right next to the main bridge between Tauranga and the Mount making it very noisy and in the middle of the industrial port area so not very nice scenery, however, there is a bay that makes it a bit better
, wouldn't stay there again unless I had to.
