They only have two electric hook ups now,but it is a lovely place to stay over looking the estuary, small kitchen and a barbecue area, you have your own key for your personal toilet and shower, plus fluffy towels, wry nice to have it to yourselves.
Town small so does not take a lot of time to look around, but a lovely sandy beach.
Was really disappointed. Host is friendly. Position next to beach is wonderful. Can walk onto beach in evening.
Camp ground is small and we had a site on tiny middle island which gave us nowhere to place table and chairs. Felt like we were on the road.
The kitchen area is clean.
However the bathrooms are really poor. Are made of portable Cain type. Open at roof and had some mosquito netting attempting to cover. All had either holes in it or partially covered showers. Not enough hooks to hang items. However they were clean in very early morning but that did not last as beach goers would bring sand in.
WiFi was $5 for 500MB which was steep after paying $42 for the night for 2 people.
Except for location I would not go back.
Stayed in late August with a motorhome (there are four pitches) absolute waterfront with stunning views. Motel owner Karen was fantastic and the place was spotless. Neat little kitchen and individual bathrooms for campers (great if you have a family). Within walking distance of everything in town. Our fee included fluffy white towels too! Highly recommend.
Very modern, clean new kitchen and facilities. The owner is very kind and helpful and accommodating. Beautiful spot near the inlet and qalk to everywhere in town.
We spent a night in Collingwood and found this lovely park motel. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady at our arrival. She is very passionate and love travellers from all over the world.
If you are looking for a clean and tidy place with proper facilities in this small town this is the perfect place to stay. Last but not least don’t forget to open your blinds in the morning! ;)
Extremely well run site, very clean and owner very friendly and helpful. Great views and location. The best site we have stayed at during our trip.
Great place to stay, it’s essentially a motel but with a few powered sites that we used one of with nice toilets and showers that we were given our own when we were there as it wasn’t full. She also gave us great advice about Wharariki beach and farewell spit where we were heading the next day including tide times and weather
Small camp grounds, but nice views across to kahurangi national park. Owners/operators were lovely and super helpful. Check out Collingwood Tavern, very close by for some good food. Amenities were clean and well setup.
