Was so quiet it almost felt a little unnerving after being around lots of people.
But we had access to some bathrooms and had a peaceful stay.

Easy to find and pitch up. 24 hour access to toilets. $15/night to pay at the station ticket office. Really friendly staff.
Great access to the Karangahake trail. Train journey was also an enjoyable way to see some of the county.
Town was within walking distance to get food. Can recommend Lemongrass Thai restaurant - food was delicious.

Excellent facilities for self contained vehicles.
24 hour toilet was clean. Area is very safe. We needed a last minute place to stay on a very busy Auckland Anniversary weekend. Found this spot on Rankers. Very simple process of booking a spot then paying online.

To over nite stay is 15 a nite not 1 to 10 so update info may as well stay at waihi motor camp have showers

Fantastic little campground 10$ for unpowered they have powered did not need it so sorry not sure of price think it was 15 .
Direct access to bike trail to Karangahake gorge and the fantastic windows walk clean toilets open 24 hours the friendliest staff at the railway ticket office where you pay for camping or ride the train well worth it amazing place

Really cute spot beside the tourist railway with power if needed and basic toilets.
Perfect for self contained freedom campers.
