KJet has been running jet boats out of Queenstown since 1958 and they cover serious ground. A full hour across Lake Wakatipu and then up both the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers. That's 45km of waterways and a proper look at the landscape, not just a quick blast and back. Most operators offer 20 minutes. This is an hour.
One thing that comes up a lot in reviews is where you sit. Front row is fine, but the back row gets more of the action during the spins. Worth knowing before you board. The drivers get consistently good feedback. Informative, funny, and they push it when the conditions allow. The 360 degree spins are the crowd favourite. It's worth noting that if you're after the tight gorge walls of the upper Shotover, this isn't that trip. But for the full scenic and speed combo across multiple waterways, KJet is hard to beat in Queenstown.

Very rude staff.
Had to wait for 30 mins to get on the boat. 1 hour trip was cut back to 45 mins. Complete rip-off!!!

My friends and I had a great trip on KJet boat last Friday.
I particularly liked going up the rivers. Unfortunately 1 of our group slid into the side of the boat during a spin, but the driver couldn't have been more helpful and when we returned, the staff were the same. The manager Brett was called and he took Ruth to the medical centre for an X-ray. She really appreciated the time he spent and then delivering her back to our hotel. Thank you every one of you.

Not a bad hour out on the water.
We were sitting in the front row so was a bit underwhelming. Try sit in the back row to get more of the action. We got to about 90km/hr and did some great spins. I think kids would enjoy this.
I would recommend a beanie/ear warmers and sunglasses. The hand rails are heated so gloves aren't really necessary

Wow! What a thrill!
Awesome! Pure adrenaline. The driver was excellent! Stopped in several spots with great professional explanation. The safety was great. The thrilling spins were great. Remember when you arrive they have also an aquarium! We want to go back for more! We recommend it. 👌🏼

Amazing, extreme boat experience.
Takes you on a much longer ride. Very nice and funny staff. Felt safe all the time. Book in advance!!

KJet take you on the lake and then two rivers with different characteristics.
The driver made a special effort to make it exciting with 360 degree spins and weaving in and out of obstacles on the river. Great fun.

It is our last day in New Zealand and were looking forward to ending our trip on a high with an exhilarating and fun jet boat ride with Kjet. Unfortunately our ride was neither of these things. Firstly the one hour ride ended up being only 45 minutes. The 45 minutes did not live up to our expectations in any way. I have been jet boating both in Queenstown and elsewhere and loved every minute of it but this ride was not exciting, thrilling or even interesting in any way. We did 5 360 degree spins and apart from that, it was simply a fast ride up and down very boring parts of both rivers. There was none of the advertised 'thrill'. We didn't go anywhere near rock faces or trees or anything else that was in the promotional video. We were both incredibly disappointed and it was a very poor way to end our holiday. Our driver seemed completely disinterested and the rest of the boat seemed to be equally disappointed in the ride. There was certainly no information about the local area, as mentioned in many reviews.
I feel we wasted our money and certainly would not recommend your company to others who wish to do a jet boat ride. Talking to others in Queenstown who had taken trips with other companies, their experiences were completely different to ours and they had the experience we were expecting.

Was okay, had an engine failure on the river, so we stayed for 1 hour in the boat, just an excuse nothing more......

Great fun and good service - and long duration (about an hour).
One of the few companies we found who would accommodate children under 5 so would recommend to younger families. We were well looked after from start to finish.
Both our 9 & 3 year olds had a ball. Mainly on the lake and open (but very narrow and shallow) rivers - not up the river gorges - so not the full thrill for the adrenaline junkies, but pretty exciting all the same.

Fantastic experience.
Its one of the longest jet boat rides on offer and you get a full hour of jet boating as opposed to the 20 minutes you get on some of the other similar priced operators. The captain was very informative and stopped every so often to point things out and the scenery you get to experience is amazing, I wished I had taken my camera. Highly recommended and I would do this again in a heart beat plus the girls running the operation and answering the phone provided outstanding customer service and fully looked after my wife and one year old who were waiting there for me to get back.

An hour on a jetboat, while others do it in only 20 minutes.
It is so exciting and wonderful. After that 30mins helicopter flight to the mountains of Queenstown. Very good price and quality.

Jet boat ride good as travelled across lake Wakatipu, Kawarau and Shotover Rivers.
Great way to see surroundings - not as adrenaline pumping as Shotover Jet. Pricey.
