Arrived very late and this was the only campsite in Queenstown that could cram us in. Freedom camping is banned in Queenstown so the options are limited - plan ahead!! The late arrival and lack of planning was our mistake so we put up with the noise, dirt, and awkwardly slanted parking spot at this place. Showers were ok, water was warm and the bathroom had just been cleaned (10am). Wifi was great. A little pricey for two in a self-contained unit with no power ($30) considering it is just a gravel lot with lots of hills. More of a party place than a place for families.
Crowded car park. $40 for powered site & free unlimitef wifi. Recommended for backpackers & adventitious soul. Maybe not suitable for families.
Basic facilities in metal containers - hot showers, clean toilets and a hairdryer available to borrow from reception. $35 for two people. Basically a car park. Would be nicer if each spot had grass/gravel/a bench. Obviously a bit of a party spot before the 15 minute walk to Queenstown so can be quite loud.
The best thing about this place is the price and short walk to the city. Paid $40 for a powered campsite (November 2016). The worst is the rest. Dirty facilities. Someone cut his hair and it is still lying on the floor of the washroom for two days. Loud people, at times like one or two every evening. Dirty campgrounds. With more care this place would be great.
Bathroom was great with hot showers and quite clean. Sadly, the kitchen was the dirtiest we saw on our whole trip. Stuff was laying around, food resting in the sinks. Seemed like many campers didn't take care of the place and no one cleaned it away later. They had a lot of food for you and dishes there, you just couldn't use it. Paid 36$ for two adults unpowered.
$35 to park our van in what looked like a construction zone. Toilets and showers ok, but kitchen was disgusting. Not an ideal place but cheapest in Queenstown and about 15 minutes walk from the centre.
