Challenge Rafting operates a variety of exciting half day trips on the Kawarau River and Shotover River in Queenstown.
KAWARAU RIVER: an exhilarating trip for first time rafters. (Grade 2-3)
SHOTOVER RIVER: intense action for those looking for extra excitement and thrills. (Grade 3-5)
HELI-RAFTING: take a spectacular helicopter flight to the rafting launch site deep within Skippers Canyon.

Good rafting overall.
Extremely funny instructor who gave us a stand up show on the bus. Just for that it was worth the activity.

Rafting in Queenstown, was perfectly organised, all gear was provided.
Quick but efficient security briefing, rafting was not as exciting as I expected it but people were communicative and we had heaps of fun.

Rafted down the Shotover river for the first Time in NZ just recently!
Had a great experience apart from one guy that was on our trip, he was quite young and quite rude in his briefing and rafted down on the kayak by himself! Would have been much more enjoyable if he fell out:)Apart from that our guide (tom - I think) was Awesome! He really did a great job and made us feel very safe on the water! Had a great experience!

Only two of us on boat so went really fast and then white water rafting down the Shotover River.
Not as exhilirating as we thought it would be but well organised.

horrible experience when a problem arose the priority was not the comfort much less the safety of the customer.
a raft had a problem and it resulted in a deletion of 25- 30% of the trip. Not good but the priority became "finish the day" B/c the guides had to come back after the trip was over and retrieve the problem raft and as our guide said "we are paid by the trip NOT the hour". @the end no apology no hot drink no advertised sauna a rushed exit to sell us pictures that were not even ready! DO NOT USE
We are disappointed your experience with us was not as planned. Recently one of our rafts did wrap and get caught up on rocks, which unfortunately slowed the trip. This does occur on occasion with Whitewater Rafting. This resulted in the trip not returning to the base until later than normal. Some clients needed to get back to town immediately due to the delay, which is why there wasn't a lot of time to relax back at the base. We assume this was on your trip and apologise if this incident resulted in you feeling rushed and disappointed.
