Very quiet lovely spot. Toilets on site. Would highly recommend and felt very safe here.

Nice clean toilets right by the parking spot. 30 seconds walk to the beach. Had a good chat with friendly locals and did a bit of surfing in the morning.
Just a car park and make sure you park on the right hand row only.

Great campsite right next to the sea. Clean and there's a dairy nearby to get some small stuff. Waihi beach and waihi are around the corner. Good place for some day trips.

Perfect spot, near the beach, with toilet. Quite a good view the morning ;)

Level car park right next to the beach. We fell asleep to the waves crashing and woke up to a brilliant sunrise. Toilets were clean and this free site was just a few hundred metres from a fish and chip shop and general store. Definitely worth a stopover.

Perfect spot for 1 or 2 nights. Carpark next to the beach. Don't come too late, it's a crowded place. Depending on the size of the campers the right hand side of the carpark is suitable for 7-9 campers. Toilets are ok not more not less. Water for rinsing off the sand available left from toilet. Beach is wonderful and suitable for kids. Met nice locals while fishing. Less than 100m on the Main Street you will find a fish'n'chip shop and a small grocery store.

Ok for a free night, but toilets smelly and no shower nearby. Directly behind the dunes, 20m to the beach.

Great spot right behind the dunes. Yes, it's a car park, but don't be put off! The toilets are fine and chatting to the other 'local' campers answered a number of questions we had relating to the local 'alcohol restriction'.

Great camping spot just next to the beach. We woke up to a beautiful field filled with Agapanthus. Only the right side of the parking is available for Freedom Camping. The next morning WE just put on our flip flops and walked 20m over the dunes to the beach.

A great car park with a generous amount of designated camping spots (over 5). We were the only camper van here and found it incredibly peaceful. A busy local swimming and fishing hangout, the locals being polite and friendly. The car park is clean, rubbish was collected early in the morning by local council. The beach is at your doorstep and is beautiful. A fish and chip shop and launderette was conveniently within 2 minutes walk. If you needed anything, they had it. Toilets were clean, cold shower however. Self contained vehicles only, like ourselves.

Toilets, short walk over the reserve to the beach, no-one else there. Nice free spot.

Why do the free sites always have the best locations? Beautifully located at the beach. Close to small town. Friendly people passing by - perfect!!
