Closures: toilet block and southern end of Motutapu Home Bay Campsite
The Motutapu Home Bay toilet block and southern end of the campsite are roped off/closed due to a heightened risk of shallow landslides or rockfall.
The rest of the campground and several norski toilets remain open. These pose a lower risk as they are further away from the base of the hill.

DOC Standard Campsite
Standard campsites have a more limited range of facilities and services than Serviced campsites. These campsites have toilets, a water supply that could be treated or untreated tap water, or from a stream or lake, and vehicle or boat access. Bring your own soap for washing hands. Untreated water should be boiled before use to ensure it's safe. Wood BBQs and fireplaces, cold showers, picnic tables, a cooking shelter and rubbish bins may be provided; this will vary from site to site.

Arrived after trekking Rangitoto summit, and then traversed East to Motutapu; took the Farmer’s Walkway to Home Bay- Absolutely breathtaking.
Rallied on to find the campsite absolutely empty. One of the most gorgeous spots I’ve ever seen in my life.
