What an awesome experience of mountain biking amid tree-clad mountainous scenery on a beautiful March day.

The shingle road was an energy challenge - 48kms uphill - no plateaus! The Pakihi track was a buzz to ride down. And the Pakihi hut was a good size (sleeps 6), clean and tidy and a pleasure to stay over at, though when we were there 20 children/adults in a school party also stayed over. There was space for everyone and a great night had by all - even in the heavy rainfall. The Pakihi track... challenging in the wet, but an amazing experience of nature and beautiful scenery for the intermediate-advanced biker. Thank you for the opportunity to live this experience. One more off my bucket list... :)
