This is a small campsite straight off the road. It is quite a tight turn getting into it and is not suitable for large vehicles. There are a few trees and a shelter on one side, with a picnic table, fire pits and a toilet.
There are amazing views up the valley and you can fly fish in the river.

True for all the doc place from Te Anau to Milford Sound : Price is $13 per person in November. For long drop toilet and a ground full of holes it is a bite expensive. The rangers check everyday. In some of places you can do a fire. Not for all of course, in case you are able to burn the water.

Small place, toilet was really disgusting, just one possibility for sitting.

One of many small campsites, just a toilet and no water.
Apart from the many sandflies that you have in any campsite around Milford this was an excellent place to stay. Great, great views, not so crowded as the other sites and 2 fireplaces.
Ranked for setting not amenities. Can't beat the tranquility and beauty along the Milford Rd (once the tour buses have left for the day!).
Thanks to all the good people working for the NZ Department of Conservation - for all your hard work - making NZ more beautiful, accessable and healthy! Cheers 😍
