Awesome country feel camping spot with our own tree lined shelter and separate toilet/shower unit.

Clean and tidy with beautifully kept grounds and a host (Pam) who came to say hi and make sure everything was OK and who was happy to share the local history/knowledge. Would highly recommend 👌

There is a notice in the check in kiosk that it's self contained only, no showers/toilet/kitchen.

    **SELF CONTAINED ONLY**

You can imagine my disappointment when I discovered this upon arrival at sunset.

Loos like a tide campground with reasonably sheltered spots and far enough away from the road.

    Very good place to stay!

All it's very clean! Very nice hot shower! In the kitchen you can find a fridge, a microwave, a kettle, a bread toaster and some cookwares. We paid 10 p/p for unpowered zone, that's so good for a night and a hot shower! Really recommended!

Looks like they've had problems with the main structure, an no plans to reopen it so you're left with a dinky little shed with fridge etc, and a tiny little box with a shower and toilet in it.

Beautiful views though half the sites pool water in the rain, so if tenting be sure to be on an incline.

Currently under renovation so only two powered sites available and ten non powered.

    Unpowered $10pp

Kitchen is microwave kettle and toaster and no laundry or oven/stove while the building is being built(?). Toilets and showers are nice and clean and the animals and views are gorgeous!

    Second time here.

Again a pleasure. Peace and quiet with chicken around the campervan. Clean toilet and shower facilities, kitchen is being renewed. Café and restaurant The Brown Trout is nearby. Stayed one night end november.

Lovely place but not straightforward to find - it's quite far back from the main road with no signposts or signs at the campsite itself.

Check-in was a bit confusing as it wasn't very obvious whether pitches were already booked or were available. There was no one on site so you have to park up and check the guestbook in the laundry to see whether there are pitches free. You also pay here in an honesty box. Three of the powered sites were reserved for people staying in the unpowered sites (as each powered site had a small shower/toilet unit, but the unpowered had nothing otherwise).

Shower units were nice - they were fairly clean but none had lighting that worked, one had a broken lock (says on the outside of the door to knock first), and one had no hot water.

The light in the laundry room also didn't work (so bring your own lights!!) but there was a clean, working fridge/freezer and a cold-water washer plus a line to dry clothes.

Lots of greenery around the campsite with chickens, alpacas and goats to greet you in the morning.

Overall I would recommend this campsite, it is a sweet little gem but I think it's in need of a little TLC and don't forget to bring a light!!

Good spot, just off the road but pleasantly quiet.

Simple but good facilities in a great location for sunsets & sunrise. Good showers & laundry. Look out for the over friendly chickens 😀

Pleasantly surprised by this stop with our campervan!

Expected just a place off the side of the road but we're treated to a nice spot tucked off the highway with a great sunset, private bathroom including shower, and a few animals (alpalcas, goat, horse, chickens). Free washer (bring your soap) and BBQ use. Campsites looked a little more cramped and it did fill up towards the night but campervan power site was spacious and private

Lack of options for free camp in the area but we really enjoyed our stay here.

Really well kept site. 12.50$pp unpowered, free to use sink, bbq, flush toilet, hot shower (very). Space to hang washing and friendly owners. Town has a couple of cafes/bars, lady in first one v friendly and we enjoyed a good cider in the sun.

$12.50 for an unpowered site via an honesty box.

There was only one other campervan present when I stayed and it was perfect after the bustle of Milford. No sandflies, chickens scratching about your door, and quiet. There is a single shared toilet/shower for the unpowered sites but it wasn't a problem with only three people there. No kitchen facilities though there is a hot water kettle and a cold water washer. There is technically space for ten unpowered campervans but that would be packing it in and i cannot imagine that would actually work. 4-5 powered sites across the way that each get their own toilet/shower combo. Nice little place to spend the night. Be on the lookout for the sign though as Athol has all of two roads i think.
