We read such rave reviews about the owners of this park that my partner & I decided to stopover at Ashburton b4 heading back to Christchurch, although we didn't have to. And true enough, Celia & Dave couldn't be more amazing. Celia was at the office when we arrived and she was so lovely that we chatted with her for almost a half hour. She was helpful, friendly and shared plentiful with us. And when we finally drove in to our powered site where the new toilets were, Dave swung by to make sure we were ok and he told us to take any site we wanted. Celia also assured us not to worry about the check out time of 10am the next day but to just hang around and leave only when we were good to go.. and to wave on our way out. The toilets were clean, and hot showers especially comforting in the cold weather. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and cutlery so it felt really good to prepare our meals there. All in all, in our 2-week trip around parts of South Island, I'd say the Ashburton Holiday Park was the cheapest @ $35/nite for 2 for a powered site and definitely our favorite holiday park. We'd love to be back again for sure! Thanks Celia and Dave for giving us such a warm experience and thank you too for the complimentary wifi!

Nice, spacious and green campsites. Current owners have bought the place 2 years ago and have done a good job in improving it. Campsite is located in the middle of a park and has a small lake, tennis court, pool and playground. All the amenities seemed new, cheap laundry, good warm free showers. Wifi: 5 dollar per day for 2 devices. A really nice place to stay on the way up from Dunedin to Christchurch. Friendly owners.
Spacious, clean modern bathrooms, friendly owners. Great first night out of Christchurch.
Great and clean facilities, super fast WiFi and very friendly staff.
Best campsite in NZ.
We only stayed one night in a cabin but it was by far the best value for price. The cabin had fresh linen, a fridge, a sink, cutlery, glasses and even tea, coffee and milk. It was really clean and the owners were just lovely. We definitely recommend staying there!
