It is a small but very nice campsite. I stayed for 1 night and I liked it. Water spray is powerful, with mixer shower and it is free. Free 200mb wifi for each person. Warm kitchen and they even provided utensils. It is really generous. The downside is only the view. But it is close to beach and glowworm dell.
Very friendly and helpful manager on arrival. Facilities were clean but small and basic, not a problem as I was there in low season and only had to share with one other group of visitors. Situated very close (walking distance) from a free glow worm dell - was amazing, highly recommended!

$50 for 2 adults and 2 children. Clean and tidy. Good kitchen and showers, friendly staff. Still seemed a bit expensive, no view or playground etc.

This was our 9th day around NZ and were happy with the choice. We checked the other two campsites out but chose this one as it was closer to the beach, further from the train line, a bit cheaper, and had more than one toilet and shower for the female amenities. Free showers, quite hard pressure though, and a hairdryer in there, great for cold weather! Kitchen is great and large and everything clean and tidy. The guy at office was great, gave us a rundown of what to see and where and 200mb wifi voucher per person. $30 for 3 adults in a powered site. The glow worm dell is literally across the road, 500m or 5/10 mins and worth checking out. The stones and driftwood on the beach are cool to collect. Sweet Alice does wonderful old fashioned fudge downtown, about 20 mins walk from the site, and the theatre does great coffee and pies!!
OK for a night's stay. We have a sleeping van, so the site cost $40. It's basically a motorhome park, so you park on gravel and don't have a lot of space/privacy. However, there'a a hedge enclosing this area, so if you have a smaller van and you stay at the beginning or end of the row, you can get some privacy for your chairs and table. The kitchen and bathroom are super close, which is very convenient, and they are clean. Free and untimed hot showers. Only 2 showers and 2 toilets in the women's bathroom (it's the same on the men's side), so it tends to get crowded around 9 AM, otherwise they're fine. Same goes for the kitchen. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom and some utensils in the kitchen. The man at the reception was very nice and gave us a lot of info about the area. There are glowworms nearby. Free wifi (got 2 vouchers for 200 MB each as we were 2 people). We arrived around 8 pm in February, and were able to choose one of the 2 remaining spots.
Best showers with hot water and pressure! WOW. Walk to the beach and glowworns.
