Loved our stay here. The new owners have only had it a month are made us very welcome offering tips on maximising our site, and activities in town. The sites are quite small, but the facilities are very clean and we would highly recommend a visit.

Murray ans his wife are fantastic! They are super friendly and did more for us than they had to. Booked us a boat tour and moved our camper to another space, because wo spontaneous wanted to stay one night longer.
The campsite ist very clean, the facilities are cleaned every day several times.
The only thing to criticize is that you have to pay extra for the showers, but it’s okay, $1 for 8 minutes.
We loved that place so much and havelock is a very beautiful place to stay, not quite big but it has everything you need.

Nice site with easy access to Havelock Marina for mail boat cruises/water taxi to Nydia Track. Reasonable sized pitch and great, very clean facilities. Owner/staff very helpful and friendly (don’t understand previous comments/reviews). Havelock town, Pelorus Sounds and area is a hidden gem and should definitely be visited. Try the Mussel Pot for a great meal.

We stayed there for 2 nights with a campervan. Everything was clean and tidy and the owner really friendly and helpful. We felt totally welcome and would definitely stay again.

We were passing by this little town and looking for accommodation for the night, as we drive in and have a look and wanted to look for office, a guy who look extremely unfriendly and fierce is there waiting to greet us, we roll down the car window to greet him, he looks like he wanted to punch us, he said the office is just right at entrace but it looks like a town information deck or ticket booking office. Then he said "you speed in to my place and now speed out, now piss off". He mark himself as the rudest person i met in nz and the worst welcome a boss could ever offer. You are well deserved this review.

I really liked this sleepy little campsite. The owner was one of the friendliest people we met on our whole journey. He had great recommendations (not just for Havelock but for lots of parts of the South Island). Unfortunately, Havelock was a little "dead" when we were there. The spots were nice (gravel), and the bathrooms were clean although you had to pay for shower (which was unfortunate because it seemed a little high to have to still pay for shower). Regardless I would give them my business again.

Stayed for three nights, did intend two but the adverse weather with the heavy rain and high winds we needed an extra night. The owners are a great couple and can’t do enough for you. A lovely clean site. I didn’t get the “geared up for residents” bit as we found all the people we spoke to were just passing through during their holidays. While there, try the mail boat trip with Jim the Scottish skipper, a great day out.

Cheerful friendly owners. The pitches were a decent size and facilities were fine. Easy walk to restaurants and attractions in Havelock - very close to the harbour and marina. The site does back on to rows of garages on the Marina so is not the most picturesque outlook.

Havelock is a great village and there is a lot going in around the marina with the Post boat trip but the park is set up for permanent residents and not visitors...At least that’s the way it feels....facilities and staff are great but a bit of a car park feel for a holiday park price. A definite stop over as we stayed two nights but not many options locally if you want power and a dump station.

The owners are very nice. The camp is clean newish with lots of facilities to use. The cost to stay there and extra costs were very reasonable. It's a good place to stay. It's in a lovely spot.

Nice owners, camp is good and convenient for the Pelorous Mail Boat. Not much for kids and quite a few residents.

It was raining and we wanted to stay 1 night only on the way to Picton. But nice location (a few meters to Marina and town centre), friendly host and very tidy facilities made us stay another night. The kitchen is well equipped incl. pots and pans. The shower costs 1$ per 8min. Playground and public park is located right beside the camp site. We have payed 38$ per night for a powered site. We can recommend the motorcamp !

Havelock Holiday Park responds:

Thanks for taking the time to review us and for staying the extra night. Hopefully the rest of your trip has gone well. Regards Murray

Read a couple of reviews from the UK from a few years back. Cannot understand what they are on about. Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. Good facilities all round and for the only site in Havelock it was reasonably priced. Went to the Mussel Pot for great meal and a longish walk around the marina which is also a nature reserve.
