Situated next to the coastal walkway, and about 25min from the city centre.
Good common areas and full bathrooms with shower/toilet/sink/mirror. We paid 64$/night for unpowered and got lucky with an ocean view. A bit expensive, wifi doesn't reach the end of the campsite (so all unpowered spots).

13-15May24.
2 adults in motorhome. Powered pitch $64 per night.
I think the ocean view pitches were $70.
Very close to the centre of town. Easy access to the Coastal Path.
The facilities were very good. We used the block farthest away from the entrance. Good kitchen and lounge. There were unisex combined toilet and shower rooms, too big to be termed cubicles.
The facilities block next nearest was separate for women and men with separate toilet and shower cubicles.
Many of the pitches were double spaced so great for caravans and towing vehicles.
All in all this park exceeded our expectations

Amazing facilities.
Private campsites with views of the ocean. More expensive but you get what you pay for.

Paid $29 for an ocean view powered site.
It was definitely worth the money after a few days without a hot shower and having to wait out a rainy day.
Facilities were clean, and the shower water temperature and pressure really good. Was quiet when I went there on 1 Dec.

We had a powered site and paid for an ocean view.
This campsite is fine and there’s nothing wrong with it but it was an expensive site ($78) which wasn’t entirely justified by the facilities or the location. The facilities are a tad dated and oddly arranged (the toilets are right by the kitchen so you can hear everything from both). The beach view was nice (we’ve seen better) and you really just get a view of the industrial zone on the front. We’ve certainly stayed in better sites for less.
The site is about a 20/30 minute walk into the centre of New Plymouth.

Surprisingly quiet, being so close to the harbour. A 2 km walk to the city along the coastline trail.

We stayed in a self-contained cabin with an ensuite facing the ocean - which was exactly what we wanted.
The cabin was lovely; clean and had everything we needed. The absolute only reason it doesn't get a 10 from us is because the double bed was dreadful. There is hard, there is soft - and there is so far past its use-by date and unfortunately, of the three, it was the last one this mattress fell into. My husband knelt on it and felt the bed springs in his knees. I had to go and buy a mattress topper so that I could sleep the next two nights after the first one. If they would just fix that - it is truly a worthwhile experience, well priced and in a clean and tidy environment. LOVED the ducks and the pukeko on the front door lol. Very friendly and entertaining as was the thrush. We will be back, just make sure I bring the topper next time.

We had been return visitors for 30+ years, Booked ahead and specified the site with instructions not to move us.
After a 5 hour trip from Tauranga were told they had given our site to others ???, Offered us a Smaller site without any views, NO Apology was offered, left us totally in the lurch. So pissed off we went to another camp. We will not be going back. That is no way to treat your regulars.
You have been warned. don't expect your booking to be honored.

Very good washing and cooking facilities in a new block.
Frosty receptionist (25.2.20) who was dour and unwelcoming, did not explain everything and made us feel uncomfortable. We are a pretty conventional mid-50s couple so not sure why. We stayed only 1 night because of this. I understand however that the owners are really nice and our experience was an anomaly. Otherwise nice campground but our pitch was just a grassy area with no view - the good views seem to be given to longer stays.
