Medium sized site right next to the beach so you can fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves.
Hot showers $2 for approx 5/6 mins. Friendly host. Unpowered with shower was $25 (solo).

I have been driving past this camp ground for over 45 years.
Used to stop for an ice cream when we were little. Finally brought a campervan and thought “ we’ll why not”…. If you want a fancy place then this is not it, but if you want a place to stop and listen to the world, we’ll then stop here. Old, tired but would not change anything… helpful to a point, not in your face and it’s clean. Thought it would be noisy right on the main road but all we heard was the crashing of the ocean (and we were there on a calm day). Was supposed to stay one night but decided to stay 2. Worth the stop just to walk along the beach and to stop and relax…….

I only spent one night here arriving 5pm ish and leaving early so can't comment on the facilities but it's a cute little site, fabulous sunset and dawn views down the coast and over to Taranaki.
The owner though was super helpful when I had problems with my power connection. Truly went above and beyond.

Loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves and the easy access to the beach.
Staff friendly and place is clean. A bit on the funky side but gives it character.

Nice campsite close to the waterfront.
Best view to sunset. Not the newest one but ok. Cold water laundry...

It may have been great but the kitchen was not available as it was being painted.
That may have been fine but there was no price reduction. $18 non powered. Some small cute cabins and a number of permanent residents. A little funky, right by the ocean

Really lovely campsite.
Gives very much an old school beachside bach vibes. Nothing fancy or new but does the job and does it well. $1 for 6 minutes of hot water.
Right by the ocean, could hear the waves to fall asleep as wake up to.

It's a really nice place was camping and had a great site next to the beach so could head the waves as I went to bed.
Kitchen is very basic and need own supplies to cook with and there is use of a bbq too if needed Hot showers were great. Would be happy to stay again

Lovely place right on the sea side.
Beautiful sunset at the beach. Clean facilities. There is a slope beside the tent area where my kids love to climb up. I climbed with them before we left the site, and it was beautiful there looking from the top back down to the site and beach.

Creo que el lugar donde está este camping es excelente, al lado de la playa.
Sin embargo y aunque la atención fue amable nadie nos mostró ni nos indicó donde estaban las instalaciones. Además los baños estaban viejos y algo sucios. Por 18 Nzd por persona (sitio sin energia) esperaría una cocina y baños al menos con ducha caliente.

An old fashioned homely camp ground with clean facilities and a variety of sites.
The kitchen was VERY hot but they had tried to cool it with a fan. The showers were $1 for 6 minutes and it was $16 per night per adult. Everyone was so friendly there and the beach was right there - I am definitely going back for another stay. Loved it

A gem of a site- right beside gorgeous beach with pounding waves.
Actual facilities old but clean. Grass pitches. Staff friendly and helpful. Location is main draw- straight onto beach from site. Bring plenty of food and supplies as Mokau limited available.

Lovely laidback camping ground.
Wished we cld have stayed longer than a year. Lean facilities and friendly staff. Would love to return when we have more time

Terrific location on the beach with distant views of Mt Taranaki.
However it is a little old and tired and looks a little run down. Washing machine very old (could hardly read the dials). Had to pay extra for hot water showers. $5 for unlimited WiFi was good. Sand on the beach is black as coal but fine as icing sugar.
