Rotorua Museum looks stunning from the outside.
The garden is definitely worth a visit. Despite from that there is nothing that is special and exclusive for Rotorua Museum.

Rotorua Museum was excellent - really good displays on the town's spa history and also the history of the area generally.

Not completely free but all superb and deserving of at least 1/2 a day each - fascinating history of NZ, NZs involvement in global war, natural history, highly recommend.
