We rented a 2+1 camper van from Pacific Horizon MH for 12 days.
The van was in very good condition and nicely equipped. It ran well and we had NO PROBLEMS. The folks at Pacific Horizon communicated well with us prior to the rental and answered all our questions promptly. They provided a free shuttle ride to and from the airport when we dropped off and picked up the van. We had a number to call 24/7 if we had any issues, which we didn't. I would definitely rent from them again!

Everything was smooth and fun, with absolutely no hassle.
This was our first vanlife experience, and it definitely won’t be our last. We’re so glad we chose PHC as our campervan provider—the 2+1 model was perfect for us. The van was in excellent condition: very clean, smelled like new, and was fully equipped with everything we needed.
Driving it was a breeze—super smooth and comfortable on the road.
We truly have nothing negative to say. If there’s a next time, we’ll choose PHC again without a doubt!

We spent a fantastic month traveling across New Zealand in a 2023 Mercedes Sprinter 2+1 motorhome from Pacific Horizon (with only 50,000 km on it), and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.
The van was exceptionally well-maintained, with no issues or apparent damage. It felt modern, reliable, and easy to drive, making our road trip smooth and stress-free.
The amenities were outstanding—a toilet, hot shower (!), satellite TV, heating, a well-stocked kitchen, fridge, and more—everything we needed for a comfortable and self-sufficient journey.
We only had one minor issue during the whole trip—the diesel heater needed a reset—but a quick call to Pacific Horizon’s support team got it sorted immediately. Their customer service was responsive and helpful.
Overall, this was an amazing motorhome experience, and we’d absolutely recommend Pacific Horizon to anyone exploring New Zealand!

Friendly business who have looked after now for 5 different adventures throughout New Zealand.
They do what it says on the tin and more - so much so that we wouldn’t dream of using a different operator for future trips to come.

We rented the Mercedes 2+1 campervan from Pacific Horizon for our 18-day journey across both the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and the entire experience was amazing from start to finish.
Eddie picked us up from Auckland Airport and gave us a thorough introduction to the van. Pacific Horizon also provided free transfers to and from the airport—both on our arrival and departure—which made our trip planning so much easier.
During our travels, we encountered a few minor issues, and our ferry crossing to the North Island was canceled due to bad weather on the Cook Strait.
In every situation—day or night—Maryann stepped in to help us resolve problems quickly and get back on track.
The campervan itself was well-equipped, ran reliably all around the country, and truly felt like our second home on wheels.
A big thank you to Maryann, Eddie, and the entire Pacific Horizon team for their outstanding customer service and genuine care. We wholeheartedly recommend them for a stress-free and memorable campervan adventure in New Zealand!

The staff was fantastic.
They were very quick and kind when replying to emails and phone calls. They were on time in picking us up from the airport and very patient and thorough in explaining everything about the camper van and instructions on where to drop it off at. We even had difficulties finding a dump station right before we dropped the van off and they were incredibly kind to help us out. Great people and a great company to rent from. The van was clean and had everything they promised it would have.

We were very disappointed overall and our rental from Pacific Horizon negatively affected our experience of NZ.
While the staff were friendly, the vehicle had multiple issues which caused us to have to stop several times for repairs. Pacific Horizon would not provide the opportunity for us to switch vehicles in spite of multiple requests to do so. They indicated that their goal was to get us back on the road with as little interruption to our vacation as possible, rather than provide us with a reliable vehicle! Problems included complete malfunction of speed sensors causing loss of power and then uncontrolled acceleration. This required approximately 4 hours sitting at repair shop (until 10 pm), fusing of power cord to the vehicle due to an electrical short, and headlamp malfunction. And, no, they did not provide us wit!h any sort of discount to offset the stress and the lost time that the vehicle malfunctions caused. Would never use them again and would never recommend them

We got wrong car from what we order.
We chang to smaller car with no compensation. The refrigerton stop working ,our food got lost. we need to travel far to repair it. We force to do annual check and lost day to repair front suspension.
We payed high price and got zip.

I’m disappointed to read your comments above and to hear that you were far from satisfied with your recent Pacific Horizon experience. The motorhome you picked up from us at the start of your 3-month holiday was the exact vehicle we were requested to supply from your Booking Agent – being a Pacific Horizon Standard GEM. After expressing your discomfort with this motorhome, we managed to juggle other client bookings already in place, in the middle of high season, to fit you into a smaller & newer Premium model 2+1 for the remaining 9 weeks of your holiday. This vehicle swap was agreed between all parties at the time as being the most preferred solution, and that you were happy for it to take place with no difference in rental paid and no compensation due.
The refrigerator repair was done in as timely a manner bearing in mind the remoteness of your location (within 48 hours of being notified), and was still able to be operated on power as back up. The 6-monthly Certificate of Fitness check was carried out as swiftly as we could. Unfortunately this was not carried out prior to you being transferred into this vehicle at short notice, as it was not foreseen that this motorhome would be needed as urgently as it was and for as long a period of time as it was. While these fixes were being carried out, alternative accommodation & meals were arranged and paid for you at our expense and the vehicle was returned to you in less than 24 hours.
I acknowledge your above sentiment, but do hope you still enjoyed your New Zealand holiday.
