Weekend down in Wellington. Within five minutes of entering the baggage area at the airport, we were picked up by a friendly member of their staff and taken back to their home base. They were very quick and very clear about everything. No issues, great little car. Would recommend and will use again in the future. Cheers Guys.

We have nothing but positive things to say about our Omega car rental experience. We are a retired couple from Canada who visited New Zealand for 2 months in 2020, one month on each Island. Many aspects of Omega come to mind, including the openness and good people-skills of all of the staff who we spoke to on the phone or in person. I tend to do more research than I should regarding renting things like cars, including looking at reviews, costs, insurance options, change flexibility, etc. In researching virtually every other car company, whether it was with the “big, brand name” companies, or the other NZ companies, I was always left with the feeling that there was something that was hidden in the fine print (and in 2 cases it turned out that there was). And of course, there is the huge, ever-present UK company who is behind much of the activity that a consumer will see when doing car rental Google searches, especially through general searches, or the large travel web sites. Omega is not tied to this company at all, as far as we could see. Certainly, there are some people who have left bad reviews for many services, including Omega. We are not saying one could not have a bad Omega experience, but I would suggest that, if we do our part as a careful and respectful customer, that your odds of having a positive experience is very high. We have rented cars in many countries, and I can honestly say that I was left at the end of our 2 Omega rentals with the feeling that they were the best car rental company I had ever dealt with. During our travels in NZ, we spoke to many people who had rented cars, and also saw other rental car offers, people and facilities, and nothing we heard or saw ever made us regret our Omega decision. Their balance of openness, good customer service, and decent pricing makes it excellent. Their web site catch phrase is “Up front and honest”, and after two 28-day rentals, we feel that they are living up to that stated objective.
I found Omega a great Rental Company to deal with and their rental rates are hard to beat. I rented and older style car but it was very mechaically sound and economical. I am very happy to recommend them to others.

Omega car rentals was GREAT the whole process through. Very competitive prices, almsot new car, superbly clean, pick up and drop off were smooth in different locations, staff were very professional. Would defiitely use them again, and would highly recommend.

We hired a Mazda Demio for 11 days but had to return it 4 days early because we had to return to Aus because of the virus. The vehicle was great and the staff at Auck Airport were efficient and understanding. Thank you very much. We always use Omega and highly recommend them to everyone.
Good customer service. Good communication. Very helpful. Hired one of the older cars and had no problems with it through the trip. Was able to take the car to the South Island too.

Excellent service - starting well before hire period - with helpful, but not intrusive, travel / rental advice, and a competitive rate and ferry fare provided.
Car clean, well prepared and no problems whatsoever over 5,000km hire.
Thoughtful touch to include map and details of the different delivery point at end of hire.
Only suggested improvement is clearer ( for tired travellers!!) phone info on arrival at Christchurch.
Omega Rental Cars - Nelson. I have used Omega Rental Cars many times and highly recommend them - their service is excellent. This time I had to pick up my rental car after hours, Omega made it very easy. Forms were sent and signed beforehand. I had to get a taxi (you could also walk) for the short ride from the Airport Terminal to Omegas - no problem as there are taxis waiting outside the terminal. On arrival at their office my car was waiting for me with my name clearly shown in the window. All I had to do was place my luggage in the car and drive off. Thanks Omega for making my experience so easy.

We hired a Rav4 from Omega Auckland for 10 days. Everything went smoothly, all the staff were friendly & helpful, and our whole experience was worry free. The car was perfect for our needs (AWD is a comfort on NZ mountain roads!) We highly recommend Omega and would not hesitate to hire from them again.
Picked up car from Auckland and dropped off in Wellington. Car was available upon arrival and drop off was easy - with a shuttle to the airport. Car was as requested and was clean and technically sound - one of the newer Corollas. Took out full insurance. No quibbles upon return. Only comment is about the car - not much boot space - two people and two large cases was fine, but many more people and /or cases would have been a bit of a squash.
Rented Toyota Corolla in Christchurch for 3 weeks. Returned to Auckland.
Friendly helpful staff. Car was good. Ran well. No complaints.
Price was good, too
This review is regarding the Auckland City and Auckland airport offices. While driving from Auckland city to coromandel my drivers side window exploded. From either a freak random pressure or rock or debris, the entire window combusted in my face. Bleeding from my arm, and my face and later my hands and feet cleaning the mess I called Omega to file a report and get a replacement car. The representative was so awful over the phone and accused me of lying about the incident. After getting off the phone I sat in the car and cried for a good bit, in disbelief over what had just happened and how awful the guy made me feel. I drove covered in glass and cuts for another hour to my airbnb where my legendary Airbnb hosts helped me bandage up and clean the glass out of the car and cover the window in case of rain. I attempted to call the company back to see what my options were, and was forwarded then to hold and then hung up on multiple times. After returning the car today, I received the same treatment from the lady at the front desk of the Auckland airport centre. She automatically charged me $350 for the window, and when I asked her about coverage she was unresponsive and cold. I walked out of that office in tears again. Others looking to rent cars while travelling NZ I recommend avoiding Omega even if their prices are the lowest, the risk you put yourself in getting faulty vehicles and huge CC charges as a result are worth looking at other companies. The stress, tears and whole mess the past few days has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Omega had the best price for the car I wanted, were straightforward and honest and were flexible when we needed to change our dates. They even had a hotline that was there to help when I needed to ask a mechanical question about the car from a remote location. They didn't try to find faults when we returned the car, as one of the bigger companies in the UK tried to do. They were excellent with customer service and I would highly recommend them.
