Our experience with Omega Rentals was terrible and I would advise everyone to avoid renting a car from them at all costs.
Our rental car broke down near Queenstown, and was eventually advised by AA roadside assistance that the car would towed (we were advised to contact AA and follow their direction by Omega Rentals). Upon knowing of the rental car being towed we were offered zero assistance by Omega Rental and left stranded in a remote location. We received full refusal of any help from Omega, including no assistance to return to Queenstown or any offer of a replacement rental car, despite the car breakdown being no fault of ours. We were forced to personally pay for a $150 taxi from the breakdown location. This was completely unacceptable level of customer service. Fortunately for us this was the last day of our car hire. However, the breakdown did result in 3 people in the rental car missing a flight out of Queenstown and needing an additional nights accommodation (incurring cost to rebook flights and extra nights accommodation).
Since the breakdown and completion of the hire, communication from Omega has been terrible. Omega has refused to take any responsibility for the breakdown of our rental car, including providing any compensation for the Taxi. It has now been over 3 weeks of Omega just ignoring my emails to them. Their customer service has been terrible from the minute the rental car broke down. I would under no circumstances recommend that someone rents a car with Omega Rents - avoid them at all costs.
