The giraffe feeding is the standout for most people. Close, hands-on, and genuinely impressive animals. The rhinos, wild dogs and kiwis get good mentions too. What comes through across the reviews is how spacious the place feels. Not crowded, animals have room, and you're not herded around. The free shuttle trolley helps you cover the ground without wearing yourself out.
If you want to go deeper, the lion, tiger or cheetah encounters cost extra on top of admission. Worth knowing upfront so you can budget for it. Travellers who did both the lion and cheetah encounters across two days were clearly very happy with themselves. The guides and volunteers get consistent praise for their enthusiasm and knowledge at feeding times.
I'd get there at opening and give yourself the full day. Most people don't plan to stay as long as they do.

One of the best days out ever, with the kiwis & giraffes & rhinos etc.
The transport charge cost more than the entry fee.

We loved the entire Orana experience, we did the Lion Encounter & went back on a 2nd day to do the Cheetah Encounter.
Loved the Cheetahs, was a truly once in a lifetime memorable experience, which I hope to do again one day. Staff & volunteers are friendly & helpful & the animals are gorgeous & all looked healthy & loved & cared for.

This experience was great.
Very close to animals, yet had vast amounts of space. Relaxed family fun, the cheetah show is world class.

We didn't plan to stay all day, but found it too wonderful to leave.
Hand feeding giraffes was amazing. We almost felt like VIPs as we strolled round the park with tour guides and no other customers. Loved it.

Fantastic variety offered for a family for the whole day from 10.00am until 5.00pm.
Wonderful close up encounters with a huge cross section of wild life from sheep to white rhino. Our children range in age from 20 months to 14 years and they all loved it! Childrens playground, cafe and picnic areas make this park highly attractive to any family. Friendly, helpful staff and in depth commentary at feeding times plus information on each animal exhibit. Easy to follow map and feeding time guide made it a very stress free day. Feeding the giraffes is not to be missed, we were able to feed and pat them, totally amazing creatures. You are able to hire 3 wheel buggies for the day for little ones as some areas are a little rough.
