Truly excellent trip, well worth going, over 100km traveled mostly on metal roads, with Barbara as good driver you get time to really see the scenery & she tells of history etc as you go. Tea or coffee supplied at beginning & end of walk, reasonable level of fitness req'd but no rush to get to end. Considering the distance & road conditions, good value for money for a whole days outing.

Wonderful day trip. Particularly liked the excellent driving, anecdotal and historical commentary and the superb scenery. Also enjoyed accomplishing the walk and delighted in the picnic-style afternoon tea which rewarded the walkers. Got some super photo shots. Well done, Barbara.

Did the all-day Coastal Walkway Tour, which includes a bus to the north of the peninsula, a 7.8 km self-guided walk then bus back to Coromandel Town. Excellent day out. Guide was very informative about things along the route, explained the walk clearly and gave us each a map of the route. Provided a picnic before and after the walk. Don't see how it could have gone any better. A nice touch is that the guide waits till all walkers have gone past the first hilltop, about 15 minutes into the walk, to make sure no one wants to turn back.

What an amazing experience. The Coromandel Coastal Walkway is a wonderful Tour from start to finish. The scenery is stunning & we are so lucky to have such an awesome place right on our doorstep. Barbara is a very professional driver & guide & her knowledge of the area made the journey so special. I always knew this was a great trip & this was proved beyond a doubt. Thoroughly recommend it.

We did the Coromandel coastal walkway. It was a nice tour to do but found it was a little expensive for what it was. A bus to one end of the walk and a pick up at the other end. Stunning walk though.

From the moment we were collected at our motel on a perfect day in Nov. we were given the most amazing guided tour up to Fletcher Bay at the top of Coromandel Peninsular. There is no way we would have driven ourselves up there. Our guide, Barbara had great knowledge of the local history and it's inhabitants. The Coastal Walk which took us just over three hours was magnificent. The scenery was spectacular and would rate with anything anywhere in the world. Not too difficult for a couple of 60 year olds but just strenuous enough to make you feel great. We were collected at Stony Bay and treated to a very welcome "cuppa" and then driven back to Coromandel . The driving was difficult as the road hadn't been graded for some time but Barbara seemed to know every pothole and circumnavigated them with amazing expertise. A fantastic eight hours that we would thoroughly recommend.

I've lived in New Zealand with my partner for coming up to 5 years now and this was one of the very best tourist experiences I've had while I've been here. Barbara was a great guide, friendly, down to earth with great local knowledge and enthusiasm for the Coromandel landscape, people and history. We had an absolutely stunning day, with amazing weather - you can't order a day like that; it just happens. The drive up took us to places we'd never get to in our own car or in a hire car. The coastal walkway itself was magnificent - through farmland and bush, with wonderful views up and down the coastline and out to Great Barrier Island. Not too rushed and not too difficult but we really felt we'd been somewhere we couldn't get to ourselves. Then to be met with afternoon tea and a safe efficient drive back, with enough photo stops - great value and a great experience.

We went in the very bottom of the low season - but that's how we roll. Barbara was great - well-informed, friendly, a great mellow driver (on roads upon which it's appreciated), and very put-together. The Coromandel walk itself is wonderful, and Strongman tours has a great little operation up there. Some people said "it's expensive." Rubbish. For the [not driving yourself and seeing nothing but road], the guidance, the information and commentary - it's worth it. Unless, perhaps, you plan to camp up there. Seriously fun. A+++. Good stuff. Niiiice.

We did two amazing trips, the 309 Road and the Coromandel Walkway, both with stunning scenery. Our driver on for days was Barbara, whose knowledge and information was very good and we were looked after very well. We had two most enjoyable, but entirely different, days out; particularly in view of the storms! Many thanks and hope to see you again.

Our excursion with Coromandel Discovery was in all ways excellent. Our bus driver, Michael, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and shared a lot of interesting "backstory" about what we were seeing. The Coromandel Coast Walkway was a great experience and I recommend this company highly if you are going to do the walk because they drop you off at one end and pick you up at the other. It was great to see the bus at the end of the walk with a chilly bin full of cold drinks and some snacks, knowing someone else would be doing the driving back.
I would recommend light hiking boots instead of sneakers as the going gets a bit rough in places.

After two and a half years of living in Coromandel at last -- we made time to take the Coromandel Coastal Walkway trip. I was determined to do the walk before my next birthday, and while the weather was still good.
Barbara was our driver/guide for the day. She couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming (even though she was starting with a cold!)and the commentary throughout the trip was very knowledgeable. The weather was superb, and the scenery was breathtaking. We completed the walk in three and a half hours - including a lunch stop near the "lookout".When we arrived at Stony Bay - Barbara was there to meet us with a welcome cuppa. Highly recommend this tour - memories are made of this.
