Small site, not much room for tents.
Lovely view though

Gravel road isnt for beginners ;) its very thin and sheer drops in places.
Long way to go on a difficult road for such a basic campsite, but if you are after cheap (6 bucks an adult, 4 for kids) and cheerful then this is probably the best option around the Takaka area. Campsite is very quiet and picturesque, basic toilet facilities (pretty clean though) as to be expected. Plenty of space for tents. Its not the best campsite you will see in the south island but I would take this over the holiday park alternatives any day.

Great site, plenty of room for tents.
Beach close by and view is brilliant. Basic but clean toilet facilities. Also has a sheltered area for food prep and a sink area to wash up. Next to road for accessibility. Would recommend this campsite.

Probably one of the most stunning campsites going.
Wall to wall hills and mountains. Totally secluded and with a great little lake in the middle. Heaps of room for tents to be spread all over the place so you have plenty of choice. Lake is frequented by locals during the day for recreation but quiet at night. Facilities are clean but basic, as per a normal DOC campsite. 13 bucks per person but totally worth the little extra. Gravel road to get to but its in good condition. Can get cold at night even in summer so keep that in mind, the only disadvantage to being surrounded by mountains is the sun disappears early on. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing little campsite, very sheltered.
8 bucks a night for adults as I remember. Flushing toilets in a toilet block so clean you could sleep on the floor. Has some river to go and explore. Plenty of different areas and little bays to lay a tent. 100% recommend this place if i the area
