The amount of water is quite impressive and a little scary :) don't fall in!
It is a little more impressive than the dam rapids, that was good too and both are worth stopping at.

Pretty good spot with a nice view of the Tongariro mountain.
Definitely better than most of the free sites on the way from Taupo.

Nice and quiet carpark/campground for vehicles and tents, $8 per adult.
There are toilets on site.
