beautiful landscape. Also can see and walk up the Mountain of Destiny of Lord of the Rings. But be prepared, the way up is really steep (6 hours).

The Cathedral Cove is really beautiful (as is the walk there).
If it is nice weather you should bring your togs and towel.

Te Mata Park
From top of the mountain Te Mata Peak, you have a great 360 degree view over the whole area.
Another good point is you can use your car to drive to the top if you do not want to walk all the way up.

Rotorua has so many things to offer with its beautiful lake and the redwood forest.
Also, all the geothermal sites like Wai-o-Tapu - absolutely stunning!
