This campground is under the Waitangi Trust.
Lovely people (Gavin who runs it), everyone super friendly and helpful. Kitchen (need to bring your own cooking gear) and bathrooms are super clean. Grounds are tidy as (thanks to Tim, who is a whizz on the sit on mower) and the view is priceless and relaxing! Town is only a 20 minute walk away. Would recommend showering in late morning or early afternoon, because the water pressure is terrible : ) but everything else makes up for it!

Nice spot.
Nice owner. A powered site two feet from the beach, high up on a compacted gravel area. (Grass area available but too soggy for my June trip). Facilities are nice and clean. 8 out of 10 because the TV in the kitchen worked, then lost reception : ( and WiFi, it may have been 'free' but poor connection and then it only worked if you were in the kitchen : (. $19.50 powered site. Not bad.

Reception..
Cordial enough. WiFi reception...poor. Bathrooms clean as. Washing line - behind buildings, in the shade, couldn't see anything getting dry so took my wet washing and moved on...

Tiz refreshing to be green!
For those who need to know... there is a no smoking policy, my mind wasn't 100% backing the decision but my lungs did appreciate the break :)

I enjoyed my stay here.
Everyone was in great spirits. Grant (owner/manager?) was super helpful, super friendly and super good at breaking into my van for me (duh...fail!). The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. Nice big TV and best of all the fire!!! With lots of wood to keep it roaring.
