Gorgeous camp, volunteer run.
Very clean and tidy, spacious, quiet, lots of great walks around. Just turn up, grab a spot and a registration form from the box by the toilets. Online payment, easy. Lots of powered sites. Pub across the road, friendly and well priced. Showers 2x 50c Coins. Can’t wait to go back.

Timber Yard Point Lakeside Domain Camping Area
Located right on the shore of Lake Ellesmere you can park up on a huge, open, well maintained campground; perfect for campervans, tents and large groups alike.
With large wind breaks to block wind from all directions you can be assured to wake up to the sounds of the water lapping against the shore. Also a mecca for boating, fishing and kitesurfing; can be great for windsurfing too! A well maintained road, with no powered sites, basic facilities and a fantastic outlook. Most amazing thing about this site is it's free!

Awesome, huge site. Toilet facilities just upgraded. Sensor lights, clean flush toilets, even a new shower (cold). Easy drive to Christchurch.

Chamberlains Ford Recreation Reserve
Great open, clean, well maintained overnight location.
A little on the noisy side, but very pleasant. Very basic but another great spot in the Selwyn District close to Christchurch and Lincoln.

Amberley Beach Camping Ground
A gorgeous gem close to Christchurch and the perfect launching point into North Canterbury.
Situated close to the beach but far enough away to remain sheltered this open, flat extremely well kept campsite is one to hit. $15 for 2 Adults with power is a bargain. Basic clean facilities, no showers. The north camp is a little more inviting than the south camp. Close to Amberley and amenities, spend a day or two here!

Coes Ford Camping Ground
Wide open, flat, well maintained spaces positioned along the meandering river make this a gem.
Find yourself a nook and bed down. Clean basic toilets, quiet and sunny make for an enjoyable stay. Close to Lincoln and not far from Christchurch. Really well sign posted.

Grey River Campsite
Situated at the bottom of a valley, is a gorgeous little campsite nestled amongst black beech and native fauna.
Flat, sheltered ground great for tents but limited spaces for camper vans. Clean, basic and tidy with just one doc toilet. Easy to find, just drive down Douglas Rd, which turns into Compton Bush Rd, then to gravel 2/3 along the drive. Eventually you will find it clearly marked beside the road. A variety of lovely walks are on hand, with some great views. It may be closed due to logging for some short periods. Enjoy!
