I stayed in Cabin #4 for four nights in mid-November 2025, and my three dogs slept under the balcony in front of the cabin.

I found the new managers extremely helpful and friendly, and strict about their rules regarding dogs, which are suitable for the other campground occupants.

All the negative reviews are about previous managers or from permanent residents in the southern section; the campground is in the northern section.

Living in the Marlborough Sounds, I stay in many places in Nelson and Blenheim when in town every month.

I found the kitchen and ablution facilities well-maintained, very clean, and tidy.

I highly recommend this campground, whether with or without dogs, for its peaceful environment, and it is only a short drive from Nelson.
