Located outside town beside the Whanganui river.
Worthwhile river loop walk with some spectacular trees. However, the camping ground is poorly maintained. There was no one on reception, we had to contact by phone to check in. Some Dutch tourists even had to borrow our phone to contact the owners in order to check in! Trees were untrimmed with low hanging branches less than camper van height meaning they were a hazard. Power connection was no problem. Great shower pressure and super hot water but overall the toilets are sub-standard, one basin was out of order. The kitchen looked well appointed but the toaster we used only had two out of four elements working. Overall, lots of potential but badly in need of some well overdue maintenance and love and attention. Very poor Customer service. Compared to other operators, for what you get, over priced so not great value.

Fabulous place, lovely hosts, great facilities (lounge, kitchen, laundry, showers/toilets), clean and well maintained, lots of drainage gone in so no problems with our RV in wet conditions on one of four
powered sites. Oh, and they have a coffee machine! Beautiful secluded valley surrounded by dense bush. Continued on the River Road to Whanganui, a surprisingly good run, challenging in parts but hardly any traffic so ended up being a fairly relaxed run at slow pace right alongside the Whanganui River.
