A beautiful well maintained area.
It is well worth $10 a night.
The best toilet facilities I have seen.
No fresh water, no showers, no power.
Dump point is on the other side of the river, next to the toilet block, not at this campsite.
First in first served. Respect this one. It's a stand out.

Awesome location but self contained regulations mean nothing as many non self contained campers observed during our stay.

Waikawa Recreation Reserve
Camping area is now next to the toilet block.
Camping on the grassed area next to the water is prohibited.
Capacity of up to 20 campers depending on size.
Area next to the toilet block is very well graded and level. Toilet block is well lit at night.
There are no showers, dump stations or fresh water top ups here.
Still a great place to stay in a nice area.

Katiki Beach North Reserve Rest Stop
Great little free camp to stop.
It would fit 15 campers in here .. easy. Two toilets, no showers. No dump point.
Mostly level ground.
Yes it is near the main road but the sound of the surf is louder.
We would certainly stop here again.
