It’s just a parking lot with a drop toilet, but it was a beautiful place to camp nonetheless.
There is a nice grassy area with a picnic table by the water. Great trail to see the rapids when the dam opens at 10am. Even when the dam is not open, the views are beautiful.

Little over priced for a non-powered site.
Stayed on the lower area next to the cow/goat pasture. Enjoyed seeing the farm animals. Nice quiet site. Small toilet/shower building close by, but the main showers and kitchen was a bit far away from our site. Kids had fun in the pool.

Nice clean campsite with good facilities.
Having access to the pools in the morning is lovely.

Nice level parking lot.
Right by the rugby field and BMX park, and small swing set. There is a sign showing what area of the parking lot to stay in. 6 vehicles allowed. Bit of a walk across the field to get to the toilets, which close at 6:30pm.

Got a beautiful little non-powered site on the grass.
Toilets and showers were nice and clean. Awesome shared BBQ area, and kitchen with dishes/pots etc. Comfy TV room as well. Kids loved the jumping pillow! Great place to stay between Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves.

This is a beautiful, spacious freedom campground right next to the beach.
Nice clean flush toilets, and cold outdoor shower. We didn’t want to leave.

Nice spot on the beach.
Was a bit crowded but we were able to find a spot no problem.
