Wow a spot without street lights and piercing srcurity lights.
Vicious humps on route and gps is totally confused. Signage for the first signuficant
hunp was deceiving and orange cones are needed as 15k speed was on sign at the
hump of 109 rangiuru or riverbend rd was too short a time to indicate in a heavy vehicle...
I would of been going pethaps 30k as nearing.. But very short abrupt hump.... Resulted in my loft bursting open on the impact. So on my experiences freedom camoing has cost me in physicsl money and time.
In hindsight i had a wonderful view of night
sky at this location. Grateful. A local also had said Otaki doesnt want us there.

Camp Elsdon
This place is magic at night but has alot of industrial sounds during day..
But a wonderful bush to escape in just behind camp. I struggled with a local having some kind of alarm on that went 4x in a minute.. He was unable tp hear it to turn off.. If been here 21days and that beep is still occuring no matter how many times management have been informed. Its torture.
The rent went up because rates were on February the 3rd yet they were unable to alloe the old price for the two days 1.2and 2.2.25..gosh now the use of the washer jmachine jumped up to 6$ last week. Would of been able to have bought a tupperware container at market if these unexpected costs hadnt just appeared from nowhere.. Just how the cookie crumbles.

Peaceful considering when you realise how busy it can be with local activities around.

Lovely view in daylight over the water ..
How ever a night security spot light is directed at car park taking away night sky view and is very invasive to pleasant sleep with freedom to look at a night sky. The amount of parking space is disillusional as road is narrow and busy with joggers cars etc and is actually just over a single lane width so passing close to vehicle so not relaxing as such. Appreciated being parked out of the city but disappointed to be blinded by false light at such a beautiful location.
