Nice, big campground.
Bathroom and kitchen were very clean and tidy. Rec room with pool table, table tennis and a book exchange. Also a swimming pool.
Powered sites are separated by hedges. Unpowered/tent sites were more open, and exposed to the wind.
Some traffic noise from the highway.

Charleston Motor Camp
Nice spot.
Big grassy area to camp in. Big kitchen. Although the stovetops didn't all seem to work? Charleston itself has a really nice beach, and driving up the road from the campground brings you to a beautiful river and big bluffs.

Nice spot surrounded by bush.
Lots of wood pigeons and wekas. Only one toilet. No showers or sinks. But possibly being built? Only a short drive to Punakaiki.

Lake Ianthe Matahi Campsite
Good flushing toilets, sinks, picnic tables by the lake.
Quite a bit of traffic noise being right by the highway. Quieter at night.

Rapahoe Beach Holiday Park
Great campsite right by the beach.
You can even book a specific site. Kitchen is well appointed. Good showers. Even a pool. Fall asleep to the sound of the surf.
