Tīeke Marae/Kāinga Campsite is closed for camping from Tuesday 12 May for approximately 6 weeks, due to shelter upgrade works.

The Tieke Bunkroom will be open and available for river users during the shelter upgrade.

- We just missed the ritual welcome (at 18.00).
Review mostly about the hut:

+ Nice view

+ Interesting, helpfull host (with curious sweet 6 year old)

+ Two rooms with plenty ventilation

+ Clothdrying-lines

+ On ritualground, beautiful wellkept terrain

+ Big kitchen, gasstove

If someone only told us the time :(

- Worst amonia-toilet-smell experience so far

- Plenty canoe parking spots

+/- Earplugs are a necessity

Flatlanders
Beautifully located campsite with great views onto the river to the front and views of the mountains to the back.
It’s next to the DOC Hut and the Tīeke Kāinga marae.

Clean toilets and well-maintained. Recommended!
