DOC Whakatipu-wai-Māori / Queenstown Visitor Centre is staffed by DOC rangers who have firsthand, in-depth local knowledge. We provide information about:

Good information, not for us because we were looking for information about the 'Lord of the Rings' tour.

On our first visit, a young lady told us, that there is only one walk in Queenstown...?
no maps, nothing, she told us, that we have to catch the gondola and then we could walk..... on our second visit, another lady gave us many informations, tips and maps from the area.

I took a lot of information here about tracks in Otago and Fiordland.
The help of persons at the reception was precious.

Hard to have answer about the tracks in the area.
Feel like they don't like the question, they just want us to book a walk.
