Great camp location.
Excellent hosts. Loved the setting with the river and sea a very short walk. We will be back.

Shared facilities are not kept clean at all times ( kitchen, shower ).
Shower requires pushing a button every 20 sec 🤦♂️
So makes it a bit pricey

There is some traffic coming through to the reserve below. Lovely camp owner.
The sea is better suited to walks and fishing rather than swimming.
We had great swims in the river, plenty of walks and enjoyed the relaxed vibe. This is not a top ten type place. Amenities were clean and tidy.
We enjoyed being here rather than the packed in places like Opunake. Only a short drive to swim in the sea there if we wanted anyway.
I’m told it can be a bit breezy but we had great weather.

Friendly, helpful and polite manager. Excellent facilities and priced so that we can enjoy our stay on a tight budget. Kids loved scavenging at the beach.

An awesome place to relax and enjoy this beautiful spot.
Safe, quiet and exceptionally helpful caretaker. It is nice to be greeted with a smile and know that our enjoyment is paramount. We will definitely be back and spread the word about this camp.

Fabulous little camp ground off the beaten track.
Playground for kids and a great fishing beach. Clean and tidy, with excellent facilities including wifi, run by a friendly manager who knows lots about the area. I’ll be booking for the summer holidays.

A great little camp ground with amazing clean toilets and showers .
Added bonus little to no cell coverage and a small camp shop that sells ice creams and hot chips ........ everything you need . It is right on the edge of a river which is great for small children to swim and then a short walk to the sea

We only stayed one night.
The price was $50 per night instead of $20 as advertised
Other campers were also not happy because of this. Camp itself ok lovely beach.

Very nice host. free laundry plus all you need in a basic holiday park. This is the way they should be , clean , friendly and helpful unlike so many uptight and overpriced top 10's.

Stayed one night 1 adult 1 child, non powered site, $45 very pricey, would've expected a cabin at least.
Other campers weren't happy with price also, clean and tidy with a nice outlook and very quiet.

Lots of room. Clean and tidy kitchen, well equipped. Clean and simple hot showers. 2 people non-powered site $20. No free WiFi. Was a great little stay. Very nice owners.

One of the best campgrounds we stayed at!
The new owners are very very nice and all the facilities are super-clean! New kitchen and spotless bathrooms with free hot showers! The lookout is great. We paid $20 for two - unpowered site.

Great hosts (John and Wendy), safe, quiet and clean environment and facilities.
Kids playground and nice walks by river and beach. I will definately be back.
