This gorgeous sandy bay is the pick of the beaches south of the visitor centre. The large grassed area behind is fringed with toetoe and is suitable for a picnic with the family. The lake views are stunning.

5.6 km south of the Aniwaniwa Visitor Centre, there is a large grassed parking area from where the start of the track is signposted.

The track drops gently to the flats around Whatapo Bay.
