Information

Welcome to Central City Camping Park, Invercargill, a small quiet boutique-style camping park just a few hundred metres from the centre of town.

We have camping sites & modern cabin rooms, both with or without full bedding and en suite options. All adult guests are offered a free WIFI voucher on check-in!

Our central Invercargill location means we really are ‘en route to everywhere’. Invercargill is easy to drive, walk or cycle around. There’s even a city bus stop right at our gate. Enjoy our superb location on just a stroll away from Invercargill town. It’s great! We’re meeting so many interesting people, both our regular and stop-over guests. We really value what southern New Zealand has to offer and want to ensure our guests experience genuine southern hospitality. Regardless of your reason for needing accommodation in Invercargill, our focus is on ensuring our guests have a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Our aim is to ensure all our guests enjoy a very comfortable stay. Our setting is homely with modern amenities that are spotlessly clean. We’re progressively working on enhancing the landscaping. Our focus is on using New Zealand native plants.

Perhaps you are on holiday or business, visiting family or friends, attending an event, undertaking short-term study or moving house? We can offer you a quality alternative to budget motel accommodation, that’s well worth exploring! Check us out!

With a bed for every budget, our parks offer a variety of accommodation options. From tent camping, powered and unpowered campervan sites, basic cabins to comfortable self-contained en0suites. The whole family can stay their way with many units sleeping up to 4 people.

Accommodation includes ensuite units, basic budget cabins for backpackers, campervan sites, caravan sites and tent sites.

Located just 2 blocks away is State Highway 1 heading south to Bluff and Stewart Island and north to Dunedin. State Highway 6 heading west starts not far away in the city centre and takes you to Fiordland, and Queenstown via the Southern Scenic Route then on up the West Coast. 2 blocks in the other direction and you’re onto the Southern Scenic Route heading towards the Catlins coast in the east.

We really are en route to everywhere being close to the Invercargill city centre; an easy flat 10 minute stroll. It’s similar to Splash Palace Aquatic Centre, Rugby Park Stadium, the Southern Institute of Technology, several fast food outlets, supermarket, liquor store and parks. The Central City Camping Park would like to extend you a warm welcome to our camping park, our touch of paradise. If for any reason your stay does not meet your expectations, or you think we can improve upon what we offer, we would love to hear from you.

We do our very best to assist our guests to make the most of their time in the south. Please feel very welcome to phone or email us if you think we may be able to assist you.

We made a trip down south. We have stayed in most of the Holiday Parks. I must say that it's one of the best places to park your Motorhome. The staff is very warm and welcoming helping us with all our questions. They even gave us extra wifi. The park is really clean. Please make sure if you are in invercargill stop at this park. Nice and close into town.

Don’t risk here guys. Shower is 7.5 minutes kitchen with only half of the lights working. WiFi is only 500mb. Got kicked out in the middle of the night due to my generator as camp ground is really small. But I’ve asked for permission before I moved in.

Central City Camping Park - Invercargill responds:

First of all, you can't have a generator running all night. The neighbors complained to the police due to the sound. We did not kick you out we ask you to switch off the generator. You were the one that wanted to go and ask for a refund. We did refund you half back. And about the lights at the kitchen, there are two switches you need to on both to get all the lights on.

The place is perfectly okay, don‘t understand the negative reviews. The bathroom was clean, the 7,5 minute shower was hot (even too hot for me) and enough time. The kitchen is old but was clean and well equipped. You need a code for the kitchen if you want to use it before 9 a.m. and the sites were a bit small for a campervan. Powered site was 38 NZD

Very basic site but close to town. The kitchen was basic and dated but we ate out anyway. The showers were clean and hot.

The facilities are the worst among all of the campsites I have been to stay at. There are about five or six stoves, but only one is functioning and not function really well.....they will lock the kitchen and living hall after 10.30pm, even the hot water supply will be turned off (and turn on at around 9am), they will check where are you staying at midnight, this is really really uncomfortable and disgusting.

Central City Camping Park - Invercargill responds:

Thanks for your review. We close the kitchen and Laundry at 10.30 pm. But we do keep it open longer on request. Our toilets and showers are open 24 hours a day. we do not turn off the hot showers. You just need to use the code to get the hot showers.

Looks really dodgy from the street but not too bad when in. The over complicated showers were unnecessary and just annoying to be honest. The prices were wrong on rankers for kids but they honoured it anyway. Nothing special about it but cheaper than the nothing special Top 10 .
