  • For a smaller site, there was an adequate amount of space for non powered sites.

The bathrooms were basic but mostly clean (showers questionably clean). Very little space in the bathrooms. They have a small kitchen area with a boiler with a tap for hot water - Incredibly useful for hot water bottles and coffee in the morning.

The campsite closes at 8pm and opens at 6am, and there is a gate - this made us feel very safe (it is however right next to a graveyard if you're worried about ghosts (we did not see any)).

I'd recommend bringing cash, as payment online proved tricky.

  • Stayed one night.

Lots of people recommended this place but it’s just average. There are only two showers and with all the permanent residents it was impossible to get one. Also lots of vehicles moving around during the night.

  • Exactly what the description says.

Quiet location within a park area. Some sites seem to be taken by longer term campers but not a problem for other campers. Clean and tidy site with public toilets. $7 per person. Good overnighter

  • Stayed 2days in a caravan on a powered site..$10 per person.

Large grassy area, lots of shady trees. Nice for a camping stay, day out, picnic or walks through the bush to the river. Haven’t used the facilities being self contained in our caravan. Dump station & rubbish bins handy. Quiet & safe, some people staying are permanents.

  • Clean warm showers, toilets, a kitchen sink with hot water dispenser, plenty of space on the campsite and a dump station.

You can hear some cars on the nearby roads but at $7.50 for an unpowered site this is the best value campground I’ve stayed in while travelling.

  • Nice grassy campsite with lots of shade from a lot of trees.

10$ per night and WITH power. Couldn‘t believe it. You pay on the little house when you ger through the gate to the domain. Not far from town center with some shops and food options. Fresh water and dump station. There is a small house with two separate free hot showers that get cleaned apparently every day. Lots of clean toiltets as well. Small kitchen room with a hot water boiler and a sink to do your dishes.

I think it gets used at night by some people with no home, but they were very polite and I felt safe no matter and I was a solo traveling female. 7,50$ with no power btw.

  • Delightful!

Charming, quiet site set amongst forest next to the cemetery - so no problems with noisy neighbours! - Two unisex hot showers with soap provided, and powered stands for $10 pppn. with an honesty system of payment for out of hours. Excellent childrens play area and well maintained toilets. Excellent value for money.

  • Great little spot for tents, vans, campers, etc next to a graveyard, dogs allowed, cash required for payment (which was a pain for me as I didn't have any on me, hence the 9 instead of 10 review

), powered and unpowered sites, 2 shower rooms, toilets, hot water and kitchen sink area for washing up, dump site for motorhomes, playground not far for kids, quiet. Highly recomend

  • We stay here whenever we are in the area, it's a lovely sheltered place and the facilities are excellent, also an easy walk to the local grocery shop.

$7.50/night unpowered site per person, $10/night per person powered site. Grassed, so can get a bit muddy if wet.Free modern showers, toilets, & small kitchen. Playground near by, walking tracks, river (fishing). 12 -15 minutes to Palmerston North. Local shops - dairy, cafe, takeaways.
