Our experience with Deep Cover Charters Ltd was excellent from start to finish.
The crew, John and Traci, were outstanding. They were very professional, personable and did everything within their power to make our trip fabulous. The meals were bountiful, tasty, and beautifully presented. We especially enjoyed the fresh fish that we caught. The boat was new, very comfortable and immaculately clean. We feel that the best way to experience Doubtful Sound is an overnight cruise. The scenery is legendary. The 12 passenger maximum and personal attention heightens the experience. We highly recommend Deep Cove Charters LTD.

This was our favourite thing in New Zealand!
it was excellent from start to finish. A family owned operation with Diane meeting you, Her husband Chris was skipper and Travis their son as first mate. The food was excellent. The boat cute and cozy but still with plenty of room for everyone. We fished, kayaked, enjoyed the scenery and even did a spot of cold night swimming! Then after the sun went down we all enjoyed some wine that we had brought with us and lots of card games. if you are unsure whether to do a day or overnight cruise then I definitely recommend an overnight cruise as the Sound was most beautiful in the evening and early morning. This was a lovely, relaxing and brilliant experience, can not say enough how much we enjoyed it

Wonderful experience with Deep Cove Charters.
Staff were nice, lots to do including fishing and kayaking. Food was delicious as well. We got to eat the fish we caught on the sound. Can't get any better than that!

Everything about this trip was spectacular -easily one of the highlights of our New Zealand visit.
Skip Milford Sound, skip the bus trips and day cruises, and sail with Chris instead. Doubtful Sound is much less traficked;it's like sailing through Jurassic Park - incredible beauty, and you're right in the middle of it. Chilled crayfish for lunch, venison and the freshest seafood you'll ever have for dinner. An exceptional experience!

Chris and Travis make a great family team on a relaxed and informal boat. The boat is able to get up close to the wildlife and the fishing was easy even for beginners. We know the food was fresh because we caught the fish and watched the crayfish being landed. More than a sightseeing trip. Chris very knowledgeable about the regin. Unique experience

"Had a great time; the food was fantastic: crayfish for lunch, venison and freshly caught fish for dinner.
My parents recently took an overnight tour on Doubtful Sound with Deep Cove Charters, and had this to say:
Absolutely poured with rain, which made the waterfalls spectacular. Saw dolphins and seals. Would definitely recommend the smaller boat experience."

Great overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound.
Fresh crayfish for lunch, whatever we caught while fishing and venison for supper - cooked up skillfully by Tracey. Very comfortable beds in the double rooms. Great experience!

Semi-private (more so than Real Journey).
Only accomodates 12 people maximum. Fished and kayaked on Sound. Felt a bit rushed last day/morning. Overall good and would do again.
