This place is Brilliant.
Linda and Mike are wonderful humans and the peaceful surrounding with the bird calls and sheep blatts is enough. Power/water for our campervan and a handful of charming little hikes to stretch the legs on made this a dream spot for our holiday

Very welcoming hosts.
A delightful place with lots to explore. Tracks through a small forest, a swimming pool, a twenty minute walk and more. All sorts of camping and accommodation with clean quirky facilities. Peaceful and highly recommended. Note that you can only pay with cash!

Definitely pays to call ahead and book.
Not great to show up after dark, unannounced.
However if you do book in you'll get a warm welcome and the camp ground facilities have been recently upgraded.

Great experience with family.
Wasn’t the most luxury but it did the job for us staying on our roof tents.

Turned up late at night and the owner was more than happy to accommodate.
Just after a place to park my van for the night and a hot shower and this place was perfect for what I needed. A good safe place to stay when travelling alone.

Having stayed at The Staging post at least two times a year for the last three years, i felt i should leave a review.
The Cabins and the campsite are delightful and the location is perfect, especially if you want to stay within a beautiful drive to kaikoura and within a 15 minute drive to the lovely and hardly visited conway flats. The hosts are Fab and work exceptionally hard. Oh and dont forget the free swimming pool :)
