Great place to relax and unwind in the thermal hot pools, we arrived on a rainy afternoon and the thermal pool was a superb 37.5 degrees, even in the rain this was a great place to unwind!. Clean the van and do the washing! Close to Auckland for departures.
This site is like a mini haven. So relaxing with one of the best thermal pools in NZ. Perfect site all level. I would say standard is higher than top 10 sites generally ( and we have stayed in quite a few throughout NZ.

We stayed here for our last 2 nights of our 6 weeks tour of NZ. Obviously, the overnight stop for first night's too.
Large pitches and excellent facilities. Kitchen spotless and excellently well equipped with pots, pans, crockery etc.
Boxes provided for last night campers to leave unwanted items and food, which is greatly appreciated by other camp mates.
Lovely clean, large hot water pool. We looked at the public one next door and didn't feel the need to pay to go in there.
Clean and large park. Hot springs are nice.

We stayed the first night in New Zealand on this very nice campground. Clean showers (6 mins hot water) and toilets (we didn't use other facilities). The hot pool is great after a 36 h trip. Great place for the first or the last night. 49$ for a powered site is quite much.
This is a really well kept site with very good amenities. It's location on the way to Auckland or the Coromandel make it an excellent stopover site. So my recommendation for the travel weary is to choose this site. The downside is that we have a small well behaved dog. It is not a criticism of the site but a recommendation for the future. For those of us who are all year round campers with dogs, please don't make us feel like lepers only giving us the transit sites at the start of the campsite. Why can't you allow us onto the site and set out a remote area, so we are not in the late arrivals and early departures, busiest part but well away from those who don't like dogs. If we have a dog we are New Zealanders and come on holiday all year around, keeping Family Parks running at even the quiet times. Provide us with the same surroundings as your other campers please.
Everything was up to the Top 10 standard here. Visited mid Dec. and very popular with young families. We got nice food at the hot springs which are next to the camp even though it was supposed to be closed during the afternoon break. We had a cabin and you can hear people in the adjoining one. But there was no noise after 10 pm.
Very nice, clean campground with great facilities and well equipped kitchen. The free thermal pool is very nice and big, open till ten pm and reopens early in the morning. 48$ for two people unpowered is just too much...
Showers for free (6min)
Nice hot Pool / thermal Pool Open Till 10 pm
Baby Bath tub and changing table in the woman's room - a bit dated
Nice & clean BBQ & Kitchen area (BBQ 1$), only one was working
Wifi Access Point was unavailable
46$ 2people powered Site
A very quiet place. We were a young couple and this was our last camping night in NZ, we found ourselves watching TV and riding bikes. A relaxing place.
I'll be honest, there is A LOT of elderly campers. (not a bad thing... Just not suited for young people)
Don't count on food being available at the advertised cafe/restaurant next door. We went for lunch at 1:30pm and were rudely told that the chef would not open again til 4pm (weird hours). Which was unfortunate since it was a 15minute drive to find a meal at short notice.

First night after my travel from Spain. Silent and comfortable and with a nice hot pool.
Pool is really nice, there are cutlery and utensils available for use in the kitchen, staff are really friendly!
My favourite stay so far on our trip! There is a hot mineral pool to soak in which is just amazing and relaxing (there are also kid free times for the adults!). Full amenities including great hot showers and toilets, disabled toilet/shower avail and hairdryer. Though there are quite a few people here and we wre very close to the pool and ablutions it is extremely quiet we can only here the birds and the breeze. The staff here have been very accommodating and I'm cannot speak highly of them enough, we've had a few medical issues on our trip and difficulties with travel insurance and on asking for a late checkout she refused to take any more money from us as she said we had been through enough! Great to know there are still kind hearted business owners out there.
Another plus is it's only 1hour to Auckland airport, and as it offers black and grey water dumping facilities, it means it's s great stopover on your way to the airport!
Trampoline and tennis courts also available and bike/trike hire. Small shop at reception.
Can't wait to return!! Thank you so much
