My favourite stay so far on our trip! There is a hot mineral pool to soak in which is just amazing and relaxing (there are also kid free times for the adults!). Full amenities including great hot showers and toilets, disabled toilet/shower avail and hairdryer. Though there are quite a few people here and we wre very close to the pool and ablutions it is extremely quiet we can only here the birds and the breeze. The staff here have been very accommodating and I'm cannot speak highly of them enough, we've had a few medical issues on our trip and difficulties with travel insurance and on asking for a late checkout she refused to take any more money from us as she said we had been through enough! Great to know there are still kind hearted business owners out there.

Another plus is it's only 1hour to Auckland airport, and as it offers black and grey water dumping facilities, it means it's s great stopover on your way to the airport!

Trampoline and tennis courts also available and bike/trike hire. Small shop at reception.

Can't wait to return!! Thank you so much

Lovely site, although only a few Km off the highway it's very quiet and tranquil. One of the larger sites we've stayed on in NZ, the upside being good facilities; hot spring pool, tennis court & pétanque court etc all free.

Toilets / showers / kitchen all nice and clean, showers free. Friendly staff, and separate designated pet friendly area which is good if you have a pet & good if you haven't. $46 for 2 adults on large powered campervan site

Great holiday park with plenty of interesting sites amongst mature trees & shrubs to choose from. Good facilities and a fabulous hot pool complex within the grounds (along with the public hotpools next door) One negative was the entry gate being locked at 8pm. We had to hurry back from watching the shorebirds arrive on the shell banks & see the sun set.

I visited Miranda holiday park with my aspergers son. He was extremely nervous as this was our first holiday in all of his 13 years, we'd saved $ for a long time for this and it was quite a big deal for him and myself. My son was adament before we arrived that he would not use the toilets or showers (typical aspee fashion) but on seeing how spotlessly clean they were he happily utilized all of the facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed everything.. the lovely pool (perfect temperature), tennis court, tramp, bikes and trikes. The bmx track which we were looking forward to was pretty non existent and the biking/walking track you could do in two minutes so that was a bit disappointing. The lodge rooms were well setout with fridge etc. The heatpump wasn't working properly though as the room was stifling hot and we tried to use the fan setup on the heatpump but it would not cool the room... and the noise from the neighbours meant we both got no sleep at all. I'd recommend paying the extra for a chalet as the lodge accomodation has no soundproofing and you can hear everything in the other rooms, on the driveway and verandahs. Sadly we had to leave after only one night (despite paying for two and no refund given) as sleep is of massive importance to these kids. Too tired to even visit the hot pools, we headed home. All in all this is a fantastic facility though and well setup for families... very clean and user friendly. A great, safe, family environment with fair rates.

Miranda Holiday Park responds:

Thank you for your review, we appreciate feedback from our guests. Our BMX track, cycling and walking trail are very new and will undergo more development as time goes on ( much safer than riding or walking on the road ) This trail will become our link to the ( Hauraki Rail Trail ) Kaiaua to Kopu/Thames cycle trail that is in planning stages currently. We are always available to assist our guests with any concerns they have and there is an after-hour’s buzzer at the office front door. If we had known your concerns we would have worked out a possible solution for you immediately.
Accounts Policy - A deposit of 1st nights tariff per unit booked is required to confirm all bookings, balance of account is payable on arrival. Payment must be made for full time booked. No reduction for early departure or late arrival, unless the units booked can be re let out for the full time of booking less 20% cancellation fee.
We are sad you decide to leave early and we hope you will return one day to enjoy Miranda Holiday Park and all it has to offer.

Excellent park with very good facilities especially for children. V friendly staff told us there might be a mosquito problem but we had none. Best fish and chips ever in Miranda village just up the road.

Believe what people tell you, you really don't need everything you have packed. If you need anything, second hand shops, Savemart, have the answer. I wish I had listened. There is one just north of Hamilton

We were a little disappointed as we found this park to be good but not as good as the reviews suggested, The hot spring pool on site is great, but pitches are quite close cramped, with less space than on other highly rated camp sites.

Absolutely DISGUSTED with management. I had to leave the park at 1.30am for personal reasons, and tried to re-enter at 7.15am. The boom gate was locked, i hopped out of my car to see what time the office opened, to discover an intercom for with a sign saying for after hours and emergencies, so I pressed it and no reply. I pressed it again, and heard nothing, so i went to see if I could activate the gate sensor from the other side. Then i hear a man yelling at me from 50m away 'WHAT DO YOU WANT?' I explained i was trying to get back into the park as my toddler children and husband were still in there (i had the food and clothes still in my car for them). He RUDELY kept asking me WHY i left, WHEN i left and then sooooo rudely told me 'We dont open until 8.30am! You shouldve parked your car and walked in'. HOW rude. If you have a buzzer saying for after hours, be ready to answer it, I wasnt to know it wasnt going to be answered professionally. He was acting as if it was 3am, not 7.15am! I cannot express how utterly rude that man was. He told me he was the manager. I pity the owners of this holiday park, i would 'spin' if he had anything to do with a business of mine. It was NONE of his business why i left, and i re-read the info we were given when we arrived, and it said in the first few lines about how there is an after hours buzzer in the event of needing staff help. I will be telling every person I know about how rubbish the management is here in this park (and we are locals). And what a shame because it does have good facilities, but not good enough for us or our friends to return for after such treatment.
